I've noticed that some players that are major-league caliber (Tom Glavine, Timo Perez) are now missing from the league. What has happened to these players and is there any way to get them back?

Their contracts probably expired and not renewed and were forced to retire to maintain the free agent list's 70-player maximum. The newest patch supposedly improved the AI concerning the FA list but I haven't tried it yet.
