I noticed (dating back to Mogul 2k3) that after you sim one season, relievers with high power ratings have a drop in all their ratings, most notably movement. Eric Gagne went from overall 95 with 92/100/94 control/power/movement to overal 87 with 89/97/57 control/power/movement. Francisco Rodriguez, Brad Lidge, and others also experienced such drops.

yeah i know the glitch you are talking about, and it annoyed me to no end also. I would love to get an explanation on that. Mo Rivera used to do the same thing, i believe.

BUMP.

I've found another bug in the same vein.

Johan Santana starts off rated 95 overall and 92/94/95/85 in end/con/pow/mov. Now, at the beginnig off July, his movement rated has plunged into the 60s and his overal down to 89.

What is causing the ratings drop in power pitchers?

It's in BMO too, in one league I saw Gange go from 90+ control/power/movement to having a 58 movement. Happened to BJ Ryan too. They were the only players in the league with under a 60 movement too.

It's only guys with high power. It seems to happen in the offseason for relievers, but apparantly it can also happen midseason, like with Johan.

Derrick Turnbow usually falls to around 87 after the first season in my dynasties.

YES. It says fixed.

Thank you Clay. This issue has been there for as long as I can remember - back to Mogul 2k3. THANK YOU.

I'm also reducing the number of pitchers that are already at 80+ 'Overall' rating on draft day, since it's a related issue.

The first pitchers picked are currently around 86/90, but the top hitters are usually around 72/90.

I've noticed that too - never thought much of it though. Good to hear. :)

Here's 9.41 (http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=111597).

Also note that the Movement will still fluctuate MORE than Power and Control from year-to-year. This is by design, and has to do with my interpretation of some of the DIPS-related research. I've started writing up this info in more detail but I'm not done yet.

Nevertheless, you shouldn't be seeing the HUGE drops you saw for Gagne etc. in virtually every off-season.

That's stuffed up the Peak of Pitchers, Clay!
