I think there are wayyy too many players who have an "F" rating in a particular category. I can see a couple guys maybe having "F" power (rey ordonez), but so many players have F health. I think is so annoying. Timo Perez for example.-this guy gets injured all the time because of this rating, he's in his mid twenties! This made me wonder how players are rated, is every guy done manually? Because there are alot of questionable ratings.

oh yea, and how about these guys with F arms and F for range. (Jimmy Rollins). Where are these ratings coming from?

I questioned the Timo Perez rating on the CD game. Apparently, the health rating is based on the number of games played. Since Timo played so few games, he gets a bad rating. But Timo was in the minors until the end of last year. He played in so few games in the Majors, but he wasn't hurt all year.

Hopefully, this problem will be fixed, but it is still a fun game.

Barry Zito has F health. He pitched in 12 games the first season and this season only 3, now he is out until after the beginning of the next season. He is only 24 and makes 19 points. Not worth keeping him on the team.

I get the feeling they have.

But what do you consider to be more important? Getting the game mechanics correct or changing individual players' ratings?

I dont think having the correct rating really matters.
As this is a career league, so the rating might be important for the first few seasons, but after that, I would expect that the players rating will change, from league to league based upon a number of factors.

If we were playing this as a season game, where after each season new rating and rosters were loaded, i would understand
you would want the players right to be correct, but for this league I dont think it matters.

It would be nice at some point in time to see a little tweak to this.
With some of the players it would be hard to see how they would ever make the majors never mind ask for some of those contracts that they want.

A few weeks ago, I created a new database, integrated it into Baseball Mogul Online, and posted it to the boards (http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=1419) (for those playing the CD-ROM game).

This patch eliminated many 'F' ratings, but it WASN'T retroactive. So if you started a league before about August 11th, you are using the old flawed database. I apologize for this, but as mentioned above it's more important that we get the mechanics worked out than going back and fixing the early Beta leagues.

Please try out a newer league if the DB annoys you, and give me your feedback on the new database.

Thanks!
