I am wondering whether the game generates in-game injuries at all, or they all occur "between" games. While I don't check every injury on every team, it seems that injuries happen between games, and I have yet to be forced to make an in-game substitution due to injury when playing a game out. Has anyone had an injury happen during a game?

I don't think they happen in game, and if that's true, it really needs to be added. I also hate how so many pitchers get injured on days they don't pitch. It's as if the game has no connection between when a player plays and when he gets hurt.

So very true. I don't recall a single in-game injury in all the PBP games I've played. How does a pitcher get a bruised kidney, anyway, especially on a day he's not even pitching? Injuries need some serious modification here.

maybe in the bullpen he steped on a rake or something. OR he got hit with a ball in BP. remember when bonds got hit in his fat head with a foul in spring training this year???

Yeah, good ol' Bondsy-Wondsy. Hilarious. I also remember very clearly when the Mariners' Sasaki supposedly pulled a muscle while attempting to lift a piece of luggage. Who was it that missed several games because he sneezed too hard? Sammy Sosa?

I remember Marty Cordova missing games due to a sunburn from falling asleep in a tanning bed if I recall correctly.

Cool thread, thanks for posting the link Kodiak.

So, injuries do happen during the game, their simply not reported (and I assume don't really take effect) until after the game. Good to know.
isn't this the first version of bbm with one-pitch? IMO that's pretty important to remember.

The injuries should occur during the game, and take effect immediately, if you're playing PBP. And then the substitution code will need to think about that, and not use the reserve catcher as a pinch-hitter in the 6th inning....

sure, just be sure to go read the thread and Clay's reply about that issue specifically.

will probably happen in 2k8. (at least that's what it sounded like to me)

Yes, injures are being overhauled for 2k8.
