Bunt for a triple? (amusing bug) [Fixed 9.42H]

Twice now in PBP mode I've witnessed a player bunt for a multi-base hit. Once a batter bunted for a double down the first base line, and once for a triple down the third base line. The screen shows the batter laying down a bunt, but in actuality it winds up a multi-base hit. An amusing little quirk that's only occurred twice in 100+ PBP games.

I should mention that in each case the ball went dribbling off the bat right in front of the catcher.

In both cases for me it was indeed a game-winning multi-base bunt by the computer opponent, though neither was a home run. For the bunt double the guy from second scored the winning run, and with the triple the guy on first base scored the winning run (both games were tied with the computer as the home team). If someone can bunt a home run then the ball and bat must be made of high-energy particles.

Yeah,I've noticed that too,it show him bunt it,but then it says that it was a walk off inside the pak homer that was hit into the RF corner.

Add me to the list of people that have seen this happen. Bunt for a two-RBI triple by Scott Podsednik as well to beat me in the bottom of the ninth. I thought it was because he was angry at me -- since I traded him away from my White Sox club -- and he put some extra oomph into the bunt! LOL :)

Count me in as well, using v9.42F, just had a bunt/walk off inside the park home run.

It seems that in a walk off situation, any succesful bunt becomes a home run.Thanks for the detailed bug reports. I hadn't seen any bunt triples so I wasn't sure what was up. But once you all noticed it was in walk-off hits, I was able to find the bug.

There's special code that, for example, turns a double into a single if that's all that's needed to score the winning run. Well, it was accidentally being called for bunts, turning them into game-winning hits.

Will be fixed in 9.42H.
