OMG!!
The 1976 Oakland A's are a bunch of speed demons.
3 guys over 70 steals each.
Alexander had 133 of them and that is an all time record I am sure.
Total team stolen bases.....365.
Has anyone had more?
My A's will just run, they have some hitters, not much power but they can run!!!! Oh yeah!!

Is Herb Washington (http://baseball-reference.com/w/washihe01.shtml) on that team; I know he was done in 1975 but the game might still have him. He stole 31 bases in real life without coming to bat once in his career.

I guess - I get it from my dad, he covers baseball for STATS, inc. and knows all sorts of weird info. He and I have the same interest in weird/bizarre baseball facts and trivia.
One of our favorite baseball records because just about any fan could probably match it is Bob Buhl (http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/buhlbo01.shtml)'s batting stats from 1962: 0-70 (although he did walk 6 times, God knows how). No one has ever had a more futile season at the plate.

sultan what was the a's record that year?

The A's finished with 87 wins in real life that year and in my game they had 95and just missed the playoffs. They only batted .242 but had a great ERA and all those speedsters. I simmed that season again a few times (I turned up the running options this time) and those A's stole 375 bases. lol.
Alexander (who I had never heard of before recently because he had a very low key career) had 136.
Billy North 89
Campaneris 70
Claudell Washington (the other Washington) had 25 as he batted cleanup.
And my bench had one guy with 59 but I forgot his name right now.
Go A's....I will make sure that the dynasty of the 70s continues.

His 3.87 ERA is nothing to be ashamed of. He is an SP afterall.

365 is an impressive team record, but it doesn't blow the existing records away by that much.
The Most Stolen Bases (Team) record in the American League is by...Oakland, who had 341 in 1976. The stolen base record for all of baseball is 347, by the New York Giants in 1911. (These are modern steal rules by the way, not the ancient ones of the 19th century where a runner on first advancing two bases on a follow-up single was called a "stolen base".
An interesting article on the 1976 A's can be found here:

I decided to run the 1976 A's again and look what happened.
They are faster than the Flash!

The Matt Alexander problem was broguht up once before, in 2k6. http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=88859&highlight=Matt+Alexander
You seee:http://www.baseball-reference.com/a/alexama01.shtml
He mostly did pinch running duties, and had 103 stolen bases in his career despite only 168 at bats.
In the above thread, Clay said he might "have to nudge this down for 2k7." Doesn't appear he did

Dude, what was up with Toronto and Seattle not playing a game that season. Something got messed up there unless all the players went on strike for something.

Im 95% certain that 1977 was the first year the Blue Jays and Mariners played, so they come in at the end of the 1976 season and since this photo was taken during the 76-77 offseason, they havent yet played.

I realize this wasn't posted as a bug report, but I'm fixing the "Matt Alexander Bug" for 9.42J.
