I was just wondering if there will be something witth steroid testing in next years game
Would suck if your cleanup hitter or ace tests positive and gets banned in the middle of a playoff race, haha.

you should read:

The short answer is that there is no steroid use in Baseball Mogul.

Wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more. ;)
My question is: if you wanted to juice a player, how would you alter their overall and peak ratings?
Changing them back would probably be simple: you just use baseball-reference.com and compare them to the Most Similar Player of the same age. But what do you change when you become The Juicer?

One telling sign of steroid use would be a marked increase in the player's "aggression" rating (though there's no supplementary off-the-field rating).

There's no reason to add it.

This may be a bit off topic, but it sort of ties in (definitely more appropriate for football). I like the idea of a player "background check" (i.e., players may have off-the-field issues that may affect their play). I think of players such as Randy Moss, Warren Sapp and even Reggie Bush where their off-field antics made them riskier picks despite their amazing potential. I would like to see a "background rating" or "risk rating" for players when I draft, trade or sign a player.
As a recent example, Shea Hillenbrand may receive an 8.6 from your scouts, but he may receive a 6.2 risk rating, meaning that he could be a "clubhouse cancer", is likely to be suspended, etc. (think Terrell Owens in football).
This shouldn't affect many players, but to throw a high risk rating on a few players and an elevated risk rating on a few more would just add a little more excitement and risk into the game.

well, every player has a personality, and the team member's personalities are combined to form an overall average team personality. If one player is way out of wack from the team, then that player will have performance issues. You don't really see it like you do in the real world (these things don't show up as headlines in the game or anything), but there are performance reprecussions and you'll have trouble re-signing the player.
Hillenbrand is a good example of a player with an F score on his team, aparently.
