Before 9.42O, middle infielders had their defense valued too greatly. Now, it seems as though its not valued AT ALL. In fact, it seems like a good defense could equal a lower rating! FOr a 17 year old shortstop, I editted his defense to all 100, and his rating stayed at 63. I removed all his defensive predicted stats, and his overall increased to 65.
Actually, further investigation seems to show that for all players, defense means nothing to their overall rating.

This is making it really hard to edit my rosters. With 9.42O, a guy could be rated 68/81, and then I load 9.42N, and its 81/91 (thats a third basemen).
Can this be fixed ASAP?

I noticed that third basemen especially are rated way too low for some reason. Geoff Blum's 50/57 (despite being in beteween his peak strart and end, and having playable ratings..he was in the 70s in prior patches.) This is out of hand, and it's ruined my day! I was planning on coming home from work and adjusting all th eprospects in my rosters by tonight, but right now, I can't, because i don't know what they're even rated. On one patch (9.42N) they look entirely too good, while they look entirely bad on the next patch. Gah.

When your night is entirely planned aroudn Mogul, it gets bloody annoying when you find out you can't do what you wanted to do. :p
I'm not quite sure why the overall rating is getting so screwed up, but first it account for fielding too much for middle infielders and catchers, and now it's not couting fielding at all for anybody...i dunno. :(

*shrug*
Clay's playing around with the ratings. something must have had an unintended side-effect. that's the price we pay for beta-testing is all.

Heres more i dont understand.
How does the calculation work in a way that a player with 5 of the individual ratings in the 80s, 2 in the 70s, and speed of 63 equal a 69 overall rating? (With 9.42O, so fielding isnt even accounted for, but that still leaves just power and speed under 80)
