In the Western 20 League I signed a Zimmerman as a free agent for 19 points for 1 year in May. I wanted to see how he played before signing him to a long term contract. After only 2 games he is now asking for 57 points. This seems like a dramatic change considering he only wanted 14 points for 5 years before I signed him as a FA.
Thanks...

Did you sign him late in the FA draft period (e.g. March)?
Players lower their demands as they get closer to March--they want to be signed in time for the next season.
But if he's on your team now, he figures he's got lots of time to find a team willing to pay.
That could be the reason for the jump.

Hi James.... I signed him after the start of the season... he was asking for 19 points for 1 season or 14 points for five... my scouting being poor... I decided to sign him to a one year contract to see what he could do... when I checked back ten games later... he was now asking for 57 points!.... I can understand he reasoning... but the monetary swing seems dramatic... thanks... out...

Did you guys change something in the way free agents sign with the new teams. Nomar started out on the free agent market wanted 101 pts for 7 years. His highest bid was 21 pts for 7 years. He rode out the free agent period and didnt sign with anyone. The season started and Seattle signed him after day one for 114 pts for 7 years.
Noticed alot of names on the free agent pool that didnt sign during the off season.
