I am having a little trouble with my lasy dynasty so Im going to start another one. I have picked this team because I have always wished the braves had stayed in Boston so I could see them all the time and not have to go to Shea to see them. Anyway here is the gist of it. I have set down a few rules to start with:
1. No more than 8 trades a year
2. No trading for a player who just came out of the draft. Must wait 1 season.
3. No Cash only trades. In fact no trades involving 10 Million in either direction.

There obviously is NO DH and NEVER will be. There is a balanced schedule, and women enter baseball in 50,000)meaning never) I have posted my league setings and will explain all in the next post.

League Revenue +40%
This is so that the teams with smaller stadiums and smaller payroll budgets have a chance.
Salary Demands -10%
Contract Lengths -10%
This is to make it a little easier for ALL the teams to sign players. Plus how many guys in the 50's signed 7 year deals???
Injury Frequency -30%
Injury Severity -40%
These are the closest i have come to, to mimic real life.
Amature Draft talent. +0%
I left it alone
Draft Predictablilty +100%
Until it stops changing the players previously drafted im keeping it here. (I changed it after the screen shot)
HOF Careers +0%
I left it alone
Lineup and Roster AI
I left them all at +0%
Personality/Happiness Both at +30%
I feel this make it so it is possible to get Hometown discounts. Before you crusify me hear me out. This also makes it extreamly hard to keep a player who is not happy (due to effect on playing)

Now... On to the season

The bravs higher ups were beat up in an alley and were told that if they didnt keep the Braves in Boston after the 1952 season than the stadium would be burnt down over and over again no matter where they went or how hard they tried to protect themselves and the franchise. So the Braves owner decided to bring back the oroginal Nation League name of the Beaneaters to show there dedication to Beantown. So on the eve of Christmas in 1951 the town of Boston rejoiced to hear that the Boston Beaneter were here to stay. The condition was however that the Beaneaters had to at least make the playoffs in the next decade which was something that had illuded them all but 1 season (1948) in nearly 40 years. So the braves set out to find a new GM to take the help and came across the young 23 year old Kevin J. Molloy fresh out of... Um... underware I guess!?! He was a rather odd choice, not going to college or playing ball, but they seemed to see something in him that had not been around the team for many years. PASSION. Finally someone who, it seamed, cared about the team as if it were his child. So he set forth with absolute control over the team whom he had adored since 8 years old. Here is a quote from the local paper. " I have been a fan of this fine team for as long as I can remember. I promise to all of its adoring fans that I will do everything I can to bring a champianship to the great town Of Boston!!! I beg of you, do not judge us by the first few years. Give me 5 years and I will show you a contender. Give me 10 and I can show you the world. I will bring pride back to Boston and will take what is rightfully ours. NY will not only Lose to us... If we face them... They will COWER BEFORE US!!! WE WILL STAND TALL AND SHOW THE WORLD... WE WILL BE CHAMPIANS!!!!!!!!! Thank you all for comming, there is tea and biscuts behind you, just please... don't throw it in the water."

The first move the Beaneaters have made is to hunt doen some prospects for the future. All prospects with NO major league experience will be signed as if drafted and will have the same rules as drafted players. They can sign a yearly contract but that will be their contract untill 3 years of Major league service has been amassed and then they will go to arbitration.

The Beaneaters have signed Ed Charles 3B(64/93) to a 350K deal (draft day contract)
He is 18 with what looks like the posibilty of 5 tool stuff

Next the Beaneaters start to clean house
Jim Pendelton LF is released
Buzz Clarkson SS is released
Harry Hanebrink LF is released
Ray Shearer LF is released

37YO Walker Cooper is resigned to a new deal. 2 years 3.3 Million Per

Suprisingly that is all the Beaneaters feel they need to do to start the season.

Ticket prices are set $26, the lowest in the league.

Let the first month begin...

April 1952 Team Record 11-17

The Beaneaters finsh the month 11-17 after winning 4 of the last 5.
The Beaneaters are 12 games out of 1st and tied for 4th place.
Only 1 Xtra inning bame which the beaneaters lost in the 10th against the Cubs at home 4-5.

Team ERA 3.33
Team AVG .221

Team leaders so far are
ERA Spahn (1.42)
Wins Surkont (4)
AVG Cooper (.292)
HR Gordon (4)
SB Torgeson (3)

Rookie Eddie mathews (3B) is hitting .237 with 2 SB and 3 HR

Earl Torgeson (1B) who was rumored to be traded at the begining of the season looks like he will stay at the rate he is going. In 27 games he has 23 25 walks to his 7 K's. His AVG is only .253 but his OBP is .414. A few more players like that and this could be a contender. Lets see if he can keep it up. Rumors are taht he willbe be traded by mid season since his contract is up and the Beaneaters don't look to be interested in resigning.

Spahn with a 3/4 record has a sparkaling 1.42 ERA. Hopefully he can help teach the young guys a little!

Other April Notes...
Trade #1
The Beaneaters have traded Don McMahon RP(71/80) For
Dodger Prospect Joe Landrum SP(67/93)
*Trade* = Neutral The braves look for a good young prospect to fill their farm system and the Pirates get an up and comming nearly Major league ready prospect.
Landrum goes to A Ball

Trade #2
The Beaneaters trade Johnny Logan SS(80/83), Wes Covington LF(64/75), Roverto Vargas P(61/79) and 1 Million for
Dodger Prospect Maury Willis SS(77/92)
*Trade* = Beaneaters+
The Beaneaters have decided to make another trade with the Dodgers but didnt get off quite so easy this time. However Wills looks like he could be a star and the Dodgers have a replacement for SS Reese, if they chose not to sign him, and some more pitching.
Wills goes to AA Ball

Team Notes:
Roy Hartsfield has moved up to the #7 spot and Sibby Sisti has slid into the #8 spot at SS Jack Cusick SS(71/73) has been brought up from AA to fill out the roster.

Around the league
The Cleveland Indians have redone CF Larry Doby's (90) contract and signed him for 4 years, 6.2 Million per. Good move by their 28 year old star.
The Philadelphia Phillies have signed a 3 year contract with their stud lefthanded #2 pitcher (Curt Simmons (88/94) at 2 million per year. Very smart move. They also signed their 25 yearold Ace Robin Roberts to a 3 year, 11.9 Million peryear, deal.
The phillies look to be locking up their studs for a few years. The also signed Richie Ashburn CF(89) to a 3 year 5.8 million per year deal and they signed their stud SS Granny Hammer (lol) (83/93) to a 4 year 4.2 million per year deal.

There were some other trades and a few signings and resignings but they were nothing big.
