In reveiwing the AAA teams of several of the high revenue clubs, I noted that they were loaded with mid career players with double digit salaries. It came to me that this is one place where BBMO is divergent from the MLB.
In the majors, if a team does not keep a veteran player on their 25 man roster, the only option is to release him and pay his contract, ala D. Bell. I think that this could help equalize the leagues if teams were forced to keep a veteran player on the 25 man versus sending him to the minors. It would mean that better players should be available to the smaller market teams as it would keep large market teams from "loading." up. It would also force better financial responsibility from the larger teams and keep their income more in lines with reality if they had to "eat contracts."
any ideas? out...
