Hello Baseball Mogul Online players -
The new scouting reports are live!
Please review them and give them a good shakedown.
Players in active leagues will begin to accumulate Year by Year stats on April 1 of the next season. (Or immediately, if you trade the player to another team.)
New leagues that you create will have the updated player rosters for the 2002 baseball season. In a day or two we will have the option running that will allow you to choose which roster you want to use when you start a new league: the 2001 rosters, or the 2002 rosters.
If you find a problem, which we hope you won't, please send us an email.
Thanks for playing, and enjoy the new features!

Just a note that the links from headlines to a player's scouting report don't seem to be working correctly... you either get a blank version of the old scouting card or somethign that looks like the new scouting report but the data isn't formatted right. That is to say that the scouting report is showing up in the walks field which really makes the card look wonky as everything else is off a couple fields as well.

How do we download and install the updated rosters? I do not see where to get them from.

Mike,
These updates are for our subscription-based online game. To get the new 2003 rosters for the CD game, you must purchase Baseball Mogul 2003 from Monkeystone.com.
To see the new rosters in our online game, just join any new league.

Would someone please explain something about the new scouting reports - the stats portion in particular. The current year's player stats are displayed on top with the previous year's player stats below that, then, there is a line across the stats area followed by some current year stats again (with the 3-letter abbr. of a team's name). What stats does the third line represent?
thanks,

The lines represent different ways of looking at the stats.
The first two lines are his total major league stats for 2002 and 2001, regardless of how many teams he played for.
The lower lines are broken down by year and by team. So if he played for Oakland at the start of 2002 and was trade to Kansas City mid-season, he would have a 2002 line with his yearly totals, and he would have 2 other lines 2002-Oak and 2002-KC with his totals on each team.

No, James. At least, I have to disagree for now. All my players have the extra stat line and most of them have only played on my team for several years, yet they still have the extra stat line and it differs from the first current year stat line. If it is supposed to be what you mentioned it was then these cummulative stats are not being summed up correctly. Take for example a catcher I just traded for before the last sim (10 days per sim). He played in 28 games for Colorado, yet in the cumulative stats area he only has stats for 16 games. It does show his 8 games for Montreal in the last sim when he was with my club.
However, other players that have been with my club all season also have stats in the cumulative stats area and the don't match the full season stats. Also, in the cumulative stats area, they all have a P in the position column in the defensive stats area, regardless of their position.
For the pitchers, it is the same way. They also only have partial stats in the cumulative stats area.
Is this an error James?
Thanks for you help,

I think what's happening is that the stats under the line are only cumilative since they did the change so that if you're in a slower league that hasn't completed the season when the stats were implemented, the games that were simmed before they did the change in that season aren't included in the totals.

That's quite possible. What about the P in the position column in the defensive stats area?

I think the P thing is a bug, and I'll make sure Clay takes a look at it.
Alexanbo is correct about the partial stats thing - the stats by team only started accumulating when we upgraded the system. For obvious reasons, there's no way for us to go back an recapture stats from past seasons, since the data was never stored before.
