View Full Version : Bug(?) Two Teams under Personality

I just started a new game (2006, as the Padres) with the latest patch, simmed a season, and entered the free agent period...

While negotiating, one of the guys says something like "Would resign with the NATIONALS..."

Confused, I checked to make sure I had one of MY guys (of course, since the Padres are the only human player)

I clicked the personality tab, and lo and behold, there were two teams listed with the +/- and letter grades.

I checked the entire team, and everyone had this, with the associated statements ("Comfortable on the NATIONALS", etc.)

Am I the only one seeing this?

it's supposed to be that way. when you look at a player on another team, it shows their personality in ralation to their current team and in relation to your team side-by-side, so that you can compare.

Yeah, I know.

But if you re-read my post, you'll see that the guy is on MY TEAM.

Here's a screenshot.
I am NOT in a trade dialog. I pulled this screen up by simply clicking on one of my players and clicking the Personality Tab.

Do you, perhaps, have the Nationals set to human control?

Nope. All teams, 'cept the Padres are CPU controlled.

humm
have you opened the League editor at all? have you ever had another team (other than the padres) selected?

I opened the league editor to set injuries, salaries, etc. just like I always do at the start of a new game.

The only thing I did differently is that I opened the player editor and deleted Barroid Bonds, one homer short of Babe Ruth.

at some point, Washington was probably selected as a human controled team then. I've seen that come up here before, where the team that you used to have selected is sortof stuck as your team.

incidentally, Clay (basically) removed steroid effects from baseball mogul.

I haven't been able to replicate this since that one, single game I set up.

But, I assure you, I never, ever set the human team to Washington, never checked/unchecked the box for human/cpu teams, etc. before noticing this problem.

In fact, I even went back and "reset" by selecting all cpu, all player, all cpu and selecting the Padres as the only player team. Still shows Padres and Nationals.

Like I said, I started another new game later (this one was unplayable) and the problem was gone.

huh
who knows then. i've never seen that myself, and you're saying that you can't reproduce it so let's just chaulk it up to some random glitch.
