This is used in all real sports leagues and was wondering why people don't do it here too.

I have never seen any league Comish say it was against the rules .. so what gives why not use it?

Exp. Player XX gives a contract extension offer to club A for 50 points per season. Club A can't afford this so they release them out to free agency and the player asks 80 points per and will likely get it.

So why not...

Exp. Player XX gives a contract extension offer to club A for 50 points per season. Club A can't afford this price so shops the player during the playoffs or.. anytime after the trade deadline..for a trade during the off season. An agreement is made with another team to trade player XX at the home town resign price for player ZZ..... or for points.... or for prospects etc .. you get the idea..

So again.... why not use this legal maneuvering?

Mostly because trades are complicated enough in BBMO without trying this. There is no real way to communicate between two GMs negotiating, other than sending messages with trade offers. Since many GMs only check their leagues once a day, this means that any extended "negotiation" will take weeks or months in BBMO terms.

All of which is only to say, people COULD do this but it's easier not to bother trying.
