Player shows no ratings or stats

Theodore Berger is a starting pitcher for my Chicago Whales team in the For A Few Dollars More league. He shows no ratings and no stats and there is an ominous comment about some other owner's actions having altered the player's availability.

Is this a bug or a glitch? Has someone tampered with this player. Please let me know ASAP as this is a very disturbing development.

Multiple players have no ratings or stats on my Chicago Whales team in the For A Few Dollars More League. Plese look into this. The wording is very ominous almost as if someone tampered with my team!

It's closing in on midnight and still some of my players ratings and stats are not available. I sure hope you fix this soon. Any info would help evenif it is just to say you are working on it.

I'll pass on your bug report...what exactly does the message say?

"This player is no longer available in the database. He may have been eliminated by the actions of another owner while you were viewing the previous page. Please return to the previous page and click 'Refresh' in your browser to see an updated list of players."

We are working on this bug. It appears to be a DISPLAY issue, not a stat issue. In other words, your players are unaffected, it's just that when the new Scouting Report code goes to FIND your player, it fails and thus issues a message that your player is unavailable.

This message is meant for situations when a player actually does disappear from the database. For example, you might be viewing anoter team and click on a player only to find out that the team's owner released the player (and he chose to retire) during the minute you were reading the previous page.

I appreciate the response. I will pass this information on to the managers in the For A Few Dollars More league.

I must admit this bug really got to me as I pretty much stayed away from Baseball Mogul Online all day getting on again tonight at midnight.

And to be honest I'm not sure how many more of these DISPLAY type glitches I can take. It was pretty nerve racking for me and several other managers.

On a related note I have been reading lots of posts asking what's happened to free agency. Are the new higher prices for free agents going to be a permanent thing or is this a temporary development? Managers want to know because it has a huge impact on gameplay.

I expect the current Free Agent pricing to be permanent unless we get feedback that we went in the wrong direction. We were trying to solve two issues:

1) High quality players being signed too cheaply.

2) Older free agents signing a steep 1-year contract and then being renegotiated for a much cheaper long-term contract.

Well, I think combined with everyone's budget dropping 40 points with the new code and free agents being more expensive there are going to a lot of frustrated owners out there and quite a few pretty good free agents who are not going to be signed. It is definitely going to reduce the amount of ready cash in the system.
