5th Starter

I was playing this game last night, I began in 1986 and set my team's rosters, the strategies, and so forth. I went with the 5 man rotation, but a month into the season I noticed something that really cheezed me off, Storm Davis my fifth starter hadnt pitched a single inning of the year. I tried playing two more weeks and still he hadn't pitched an inning, I began looking at other teams, and noticed none of the fifth starters on any team had pitched an inning, except for on the teams that had an injured starter.

Of the 26 teams only the Astros didn't use a five man rotation, and nobody had their fifth starter starting, whats up with that?

This has been a recurring issue. Go to Team > Strategies > Pitcher Use and move the "Start on Short Rest" all the way to the left, or maybe one click to the right of that. If you want starting pitchers to eat up innings and pitch more CGs then slide "Pitch Through Trouble" and "High Pitch Counts" right of center.
