Something is happening with the Free Agents salaries. For example yesterday (4-10-2002) I had bid (prior to the season starting) on several players with very reasonanle salaries. I believe I had the winning bids and the bidding period ended but the players were not added to my roster. Instead, those players, plus many others are listed as Free Agents (without bidding) and their salaries went up 4 times. For example:

SP E. Flynn 6 pts to 27 pts
SS D. Jimenez 12 pts to 59 pts
SS A. Gonzalez 8 pts to 52 pts
C J. Pauls 4 pts to 29 pts
(I also had 2b Mark Bellhorn, CF Alex Escobar, CF G. Anderson)

This would have been OK if my budget had been adjucted up 4 times. I have lost out on needed free agents because I can't afford them today but I could yesterday.

Request a reply as soon as possible. By reading many post on this forum tells me that this game has many problems. If this problem is not corrected soon I will cancel my 10 current teams for 3 to 6 months until the problems are corrected.

I had the same problem last offseason. My revenues rose the next year, but I needed to spend more on Player Devloment and Trainers, so I didn't get much more 'space' in my budget for players. My suggestion is to try to trade them and get something in return. That's what I had to do. I lost one hitter, and a really good set-up man, but I'm still hanging on to the division lead.

I was away when the free agent bidding ended (Prairie Basebll League), but I have also noticed strange things going on with the free agents.

I had bid 26 points for 7 years for Richie Sexson with a maximum limit of 30 points. When I got back to town I find I didn't get Sexson and he went to San Diego for 29 points until 2013, or 7 years. San Diego is a computer managed team.

How is it possible that I didn't win the bidding for this player when the winning bid was lower than my maximum and the term of the contract was the same? I was counting on Sexson's above average power and run production to round out my team for this year. Now I find myself spending another year trying to rebuild which I find less than enjoyable.

Dave,
We'll check on your problem. We're very sorry for the delay!

I just wanted to say that if your bid is below what the player is asking when you are the top bidder, he will stay a free agent.

I'm having a different problem with free agent salaries. I'm in the Phoenix 30 league and between December and March the free agent demands do not appear to have changed one iota. As far as I can tell the demands are still the same, the status bars have not budged, and no one has signed anywhere.
