First of all i'd like to thank the users that helped me with the photo problem i had a couple weeks ago, i finally just copied and pasted. (why didnt i do that first?:p )

I've seen this asked before but with mixed opinions so i decided to try again and get a consensus.

Which level is most realistic?

I play in pbp mode every game-so far in coach.

I use manager when batting and player when pitching with my created pitcher, and manager with the rest of the pitching staff.

Im with the royals on a slighty upgraded roster (via trades and one year FA) and im 88-60 and have almost lost interest towards the end of the season. Its become too easy. My team avg. is .276 ranked 4th in mlb. That shouldnt be when i have a very below average lineup. My pitching seems a little more realistic although my starters seem to be all having careeer years. I have an era of 1.56 and 356 strikeouts with my created pitcher (which i always control) with a power rating of 74! My control and movement is in the high 90's though. Has anyone else found pitching against the a.i especially easy?

I started using coach because a user said in a post that clay mentioned it was the only level that didnt give an advantage to either side.

Sorry about the long post guys, just wanted to get this cleared up before i begin a new dynasty.

The thing about that though is that Clay was refering to simulating games, not PBP mode. I don't honestly think that there's a truely fair PBP game level, and even if there is the simple act of playing in PBP mode for a while will allow you to beat the computer more often than you "should". There isn't an AI in the world that can keep up with a human being in any game.

I do know that Clay would love you hear from experienced PBP players on exactly how they play the game. That way he can adjust the game play to make it more challenging.

Then how is exactly is the game adjusted to each level to make it harder?

And i must say that me being human in PBP mode has nothing to do with my batters hitting with such a high average when im in "manager" and not controlling them. I only control manager decisions such as when to bring the reliever in or to steal a base.

Manager and GM mode use the exact same engine as simulating games outside of pbp mode uses. you would have the same results by simming the games as you would by using pbp, except that you will probably make better strategic decisions and therefore win more games. It is possible for managerial decisions to affect players hitting averages, since you can pull a player or keep them in for longer than the AI would. That sort of effect would be very low, though.

In terms of adjusting the game to make it easier or harder in player mode, I believe that the game is more or less forgiving when it comes to you deciding what will or will not be a hit. Coach is still probably the most equil level in pbp mode, but given time you will always be able to outguess the computer, even in Mogul mode.
