Only one Admin is in the top 30 in posting (shows that you have a good following Clay :))
Out of 30 posters, 29 of them almost only play BMO. (including Clay :))
3 people at 10k or more post(Dabs, Michaelg, and boomboom(ME:D), two people at 12k or more. (Dabs and Michaelg)
There is a Son and Father combo on that list.
(dabs and dasox)
6 People on the list do not have an Avatar. 3 People in the top 20 (boomboom, houstonGM, Khan, edeutsch77, jordanwagner, tdawg81584
Posters 31-60 (15 of them do not have Avatars)
Posters 61-90 (20 of them do not have Avatars)
One person played BMO for just a little bit, about 99% of his post are on the main forum....I still can't believe that he has racked up soo many post in the main forums- HoustonGM
Top 5 Posters: have run a successful leagues in BMO.
(Dabs- dabruins league, dabs 24 hour leagues, countless other leagues)
(Michaelg- IL30, countless other leagues)
(boomboom- the Cascade League, and OIL)
(Jmarter- anything he touches turns to gold: easily the best commissioner ever in BMO history...AGML, Best of the Best co-founder, CML4)
Stieny (creater of many leagues- OIL, IL30) Rules pages would be like a 300 page novel)
Oh, one more interesting note, all 5 of us, are mods, but a year ago, it looked almost like this, but with one interesting note:
Williethebaset was in the top 5 with 3600 post then....long live the days when kingmob and willie would be in leagues together, classic political threads before ejections....lol
It is 5:51am PST, I havent gone to sleep yet.....

nice to see but who is the top average poster per day ?
Im asking because the top 10 have been around since Methuselah(posting regularly since at least 2003) & was wondering if "new posters" are "climbing" the Charts
I know Ohm is roughly posting 30/day so in about 135 days at the same rate he'll crack the top 5:D

You havent seen the posting wars yet have you...I have easily added 2-3 thousand by them...Dabs, Mikey and then Stieny, added around 4-5.....but in the end. When Stieny got Mod powers...it went to his head, and he started to delete posts....Dabs, mikey and myself lost post. Dabs maybe lost a thousand, Michealg lost 3-4thousand, I lost two thousand post....
It was total bs, I was actually going to leave cause of this. (you know how long it takes to post a 1,000 post....it was all wasted. :(
Anyway, I have recovered, and I will be at 11,000 before the end of the month :D

Houston and scooter will be the next ones to get into the TOP 5 club ;)
Stieny, and more recently (in the end of August) Jmarter have left BMO. Jmarter when was active, quietly entered the top 5. All of his post were legit. I guess that happens when you run great leagues :)
So there Post totals are standing still...but if Houston doesnt get into BMO, Ohms or some other BMO player will get into the top 5 by next year. (scooter will be next thou ) Ohms will need to get into more leagues to get more post :)

You can't really go on average posts per day though, because that considers you're entire time here since registering. Like boomboom said, he joined in 2002 but only had 300 posts until April 2004. If you only considered average posts in the last month or so, things would look significantly different.

Like people have said, I signed up in 2002, barely posted then, posted a little over the next few years, and didn't really start posting until the middle of the baseball season last year. I did calculate my posts per day in the last few months a few weeks ago, and it was something like 40-50 posts per day. :p
I remember though when I first cmae back and really started posting, my posts per day were below 1...and now its up to 3.57..so, i'm making up for all the missed time quite fast! :p

Stieny was an *** (I used stars) I hated his league rules...thou I would have to think that you are soo much better of a commissioner than Stieny.
I know he was your first commissioner in OIL and you were detroit. His rules were so hard to follow. It takes charisma to fill leagues. Michael you have that. Stieny didn't.
Jmarter reputation grew with AGML. He had a solid core of Gm's that still follow him around. (before he left) Any league with Jmarter at the helm was a hard one to get into. Shoot, AGML is the only successful 10 a day sim out there. It never reset, and was always full.

In my opinion. Being able to keep a league full is the best quality any commissioner can have. Giving 100% to the league and trying to improve the experience to each owner, is another. Reputation is the best quality any owner can ever have.
The Cascade League never has ever dipped below 20 owners, its lowest point was 22 owners...I really got scared that the league I put soo much effort into was going to die...I turned on my recruiting, got the league fulled back up in 5-6 days. THan we went on a streak of 28 owners or more for 11 months, and the best part when I gave up the league, we were still at 30 owners. And that streak is still alive now...now we have 17 months of 28 owners or more...
Activity can either kill, or make a league great. The Cascade League for me, was for casual BMO players. A great group of owners, who were there to have fun, talk a little trash (well for me it was a lot) but again, the total experience was the #1 reason why the league is still going. I could have given the league to the wrong person. I offered the league to 4 people. 3 former commissioners with proven track records and one owner who was the assistant commissioner. If I offered the league to the wrong owner....things might be different. Either way the league survive, Any of those owner I asked would have done a great job. I am not sure if they could have done a better job than Yank4251...shoot I don't think I did that good of a job.
And the last thing a commissioner needs to run a league is passion.

Actually. I've been working more at my job recently and am looking into getting another one so I can get a Condo with the both of them.
That being said, I don't think I'd have the time to run a league the way I'd actually want to. I don't even have the time to think of how I'd want to much less actually doing it.

I d Who have never palyed BMO because of the time differential (im +7 eastern so imagine if i was a league player whilst youd sleep id be awake & vice versa)
would join a "Dave the Man" League just for a month for:
1) to see his rules (they in themselves would be "unique" I imagine.
2) to see how the conflicts would be resolved I bet there would be a lot of "! !" everywhere
3) & by judging the threads/posts the league would be very very funny

No problems Sir - but I DO maintain that Dave (As a Commisioner)would create a unique look to a league(I read BoomBoom's Steiny rules) which in itself would be the opposite of most BMO leagues;
BMO seems from the outside looking in "very competitive" & "serious" A Dave-like Commish would allow for a friendlier & "wackier" game

New Orleans was made worse before the feds got involved by an absolutely corrupt local government that squandered millions, more likely billions of dollars in government assistance to upgrade the levy system over decades. The mayor passed on an opportunity to use school busses to start evacuating people because he wanted Greyhound and Amtrak luxury for his people, the morons even had the inbound what,? four lanes, closed to outgoing traffic on the interstate highway for over a day instead of opening three of them for outbound, allowing one for incoming traffic, of which there was almost nil. They would have had six or seven lanes going out if someone had used a few brain cells. Their corrupt police force was looting right along with everyone else or just quit on the spot. Who was it, a senator or congressman that commandeered a military vehicle for personal use, got it stuck and would up having to get a helicopter pulled off of search and rescue for more personal use. The governor vanished from public view after trying to pass the buck onto George Bush before anything really bad had even happened. The people who run the state of Louisiana are laughable even by Massachusetts standards, and those are low standards indeed. Then, after all that Nagin did, the people who were left, re-elected the jackass. They truly deserve whatever they get in N.O. now, you get the government that you deserve.

Except when he was selling military tech secrets to China for campaign and library contributions or calling for military strikes against middle eastern targets in an effort to draw off attention from his perjury and personal issues. It WAS the National GOVERNMENT who cut cost funding because they didnt believe a GRADE 4 or above Hurricane would ever hit New Orleans not the other way round
Also Michael Brown was a disaster (lack of information,no experience lead to basic rescue mistakes etc). The saddest part was when Bush congratulated him for his "fine work" when Brown knew that the situation was actually worsening
Even though your other points are totally valid
Overall when Local & National government act as they did, it is no wonder that so many "poor" people died & hopefully both parties will learn from this for the future

Seriously since Oil being a limited natural resource & demand being ever increasing (China is now a major player) & the Middle East become ever more turbulent & Venezuela about to nationalise its oil production (THAT WILL HAPPEN )

New Orleans had been recieving, and it's politicians pocketing, millions of dollars for upgrades not only for the levys but for other public works that never got done for a very long time. The state is a cesspit of corruption on a scale not often seen in this country outside of Chicago's political machine.
Michael Brown was a disaster. Agreed there. He wasn't qualified to drive a garbage truck, never mind run FEMA.

On top of that, the pumping stations were never maintained, and though very old, could have helped out considerably had that money not gone elsewhere too. I think that two of the pumps actually functioned when they were needed, the rest did not.

Future possible production but as it says "no certainty"
A couple of years ago 50$ was thought of unlikely now 80$ is around the corner & unfortunately for the western world most production comes out of either OPEC or ex-Eastern Block (unstable) countries
I ll stick with what I said BUT the more discoveries the better BUT China's demands (thanks to the "discovery" of the private car & its ever increasing industrialisation) is definitely going to have an MAJOR effect on prices in the
near future especially if there isnt an alternative to "fossil" fuels

Scarcity should drive the market for an alternative. No better motivation than being the first to cash in on a big idea.

...Seriously since Oil being a limited natural resource & demand being ever increasing...
its limited, but will never be depleted.
demand has a ceiling, its not ever increasing.
see the Oil Threads in the Ejections forum for the reasons why.

demand has a ceiling, its not ever increasing.
[/QUOTE]
As WE PRODUCE more & more articles dependent on electricity the demand for increased power is ever increasing (ie 50 years ago 1TV per home possibly a washing machine etc - now a TV in each room Personal cell phones which need recharging, computers ,DVD players etc) & thus the demand for Fossil fuels increases http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/ieo/highlights.html & http://www.uic.com.au/nip11.htm &
Secondly the WORLD population is growing expotentionally(thanks to better medi-care there are less deaths, aging & more births) it took us nearly 1800 years to reach a billion,100 years 2 billion & 50 odd years 4 billion - http://www.yale.edu/ynhti/curriculum/units/1998/7/98.07.02.x.html & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Population_explosion#Population_projections
Thirdly & maybe the most affective for Oil Sales is that the developing countries (especially south east Asia & China) have quadrupled in the last 10 years their Oil purchases (OPEC figures) & with the ever developing increase in their production & PNB OPEC believes this demand will escalate to the point that by 2010 China's demands will OUTWEIGH those of the USA

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0872964.html
http://www.radford.edu/~wkovarik/oil/
http://www.scaruffi.com/politics/oil.html
Also there are many experts who have shown that Oil production has hit it peak & that certain countries are over producibng to hide the fact that there reserve are depleted (Saudi Arabia especially)
http://www.iags.org/n0331043.htm
http://www.gunnarlindgren.com/ENG.PDF#search=%22WORLD%20OIL%20shortage%22

The combination of these factors lead to my view that demand is ever increasing (in the short run at least)

once oil gets more expensive than investment in something else (wind, solar, saltwater, pig fat, whale blubber, whatever), the demand for oil will start to dwindle. once that replacement is mass produced, the demand for oil will evaporate.

I liked his rule tome. Everything was right there, no questions asked, and in plain english.

As far as I know, there's only one overnight simming league right now. Mogul Nights. And it hasn't ever had a vacancy, from what i've seen.
Actually, that might be something that I would be interested in running if there's enough interest to fill another league. There are problems with Mogul Online, and there not going to get fixed for the forseeable future. It's still fun to be involved in though. I could start another overnight league if there's enough interest...

Seconded, there. I could probably do an overnight league, since I'm a nightowl...I guess the biggest problem I have with Mogul Online, besides the fact that you can't customize the league, is that practically every opening advertised says something like, "Serious players only!" And I'm, well, not that serious. I work in Baltimore, have a second job with my political party, am working to open my own business soon, and do like to get out and see people on weekends and such. Plus, wife, kids, yeah. Not to mention that last time I did try to get help with BBMO, I got ignored, so I did my dissatisfied consumer thing and walked. (Stayed with the 2k7 version, though.)

:D :D no offence meant Bobby - but your speed to "plug BMO" (which is excellent by the way to all those who have not tried it & Bobby is a wonderful commisioner who gurantees to bring you hot chocolate & cookies to your home every morning for the first month & will take you every Saturday night... well I cant tell you all the perks that's his job) is amazing;)
