I'm not sure if you consider this a bug or not, but I have Detroit in the FDL, season ends. After letting guys go whose contracts were up, I only would have about 12 batters and 9 pitchers left + rookies. Well, I ended up getting 13 rookie batters, and 0 rookie pitchers. That just seems a little bit off to me. I only have enough pitchers to have 4 in the bullpen.

Yep, that's a bug. The game is supposed to fill your roster with scrub rookies (all F's and D's, mostly "old" rookies like Jim Morris).

I'll send on your report...thanks.

Are they all scrubs, or just the ones needed to fill out the roster? I was 2nd in farm spending, 3rd at worst, so I was expecting to get some talent.

In the Western 20... for the past two seasons my SD team has only received one new rookie... I am in the lower half of spending... does that have an effect on both the quality and the quantity of new recruits... if so that seems like a double negative...

on this... I was recently thinking that in MLB, teams that have poor records draft higher in both the Rule 5 draft and the June draft each year. This is supposed to negate the money advantages of the larger market teams....

In BBMO we seem to have a double negative... the smaller market teams can not afford to field both a competitive team and outspend the larger markets on a farm system. This means that losing small market teams aren't able to grow their farm systems with higher picks ala the Braves in the late 1980s. Would it be feasible to have the quality of the new rookies available to a team be based on a matrix of previous record and money spent of farm system. The quantity could still be focused on money spent.

Thanks... out.

I think they are usually all scrubs...but maybe not. I'll see if I can find out.

Seiryuu-
The farm system spending influences the quality of rookies and the quantity.

However, your previous record also influences this, like in real life. The team with the worst record picks first, so they do get an advantage. I think this is new for the 2003 version.

Hey TP... thanks for the note... this is great information and seems to be right on track with MLB!

It is changes like this that would be really nice to see show up in release notes.

I recieved the following computer generated rookie Juan Murata (http://www-1.sportsmogul.com/bb/bg.pl?page=scouting&id=5150825) he also is carring a 33 point contract. I have never gotten a rookie that was more than 1 point and this guy will never earn 33 points in a contract year. I am assuming this is a bug.
