Two thumbs up! Maybe if they can get more copies out there to the bigger stores they'll sell a lot more. Once BBM was off the shelf at Wal-Mart there were no more. They went quickly too. Happy 100,000!

I... don't think so. The story doesn't have the same feel to it (nothing about Chicago or anything), and it's a completely positive peice as well. The throught crossed my mind as well, but I dismissed it.

giving money to charity is pretty positive too ;)
id expect to have more than 20 active members of the forums if hundreds of thousands of copies are being sold. id also expect Clay to have hired some of the folks working as volunteers with his MILLIONS of dollars in revenue.

will it could have sold over 100k copies because there were no other baseball games on pc like mvp 2006 for reason.

there are other options (that have also sold mass quantities), but i wont type their names out of fearing of being banned by the new hall monitor.

I don't know where you guys are getting these thoughts about ohms being some type of "hall monitor." I really don't think he'll ban anyone for mentioning other games. Hes not ****ing Hitler dude.
All I've seen ohms do is positive things.

It is natural for people to 'test' a new authority figure to see how they react, especially if they are relatively new to the scene. Different people do it different ways, some with direct probes, others with snide remarks, others with quasi-jokes. Had I been chosen to be a moderator, I would have expected worse 'testing' than I have seen so far. It also tends to magnify personality differences between individuals when one becomes an authority figure. It's a way to test someone's compentence that many people revert to.

Very true. Just let it slide Houston. It doesn't actually bother me, as i've had far, far worse things said about me in the past.
besides, "sticks and stones", you know?

Once you are in the work place and attain a position of authority you will understand.

Well, it's just that people are acting like ohms is some kind of gestapo who bans people at a whim. He's only banned one person so far, and that's someone who deserved it.

I understand your confusion. And I am just trying to explain to you that while it seems (or maybe is) illogical, it is what happens. It is human nature to 'test' those new to a position of authority, and the testers will usually be those that have been around longer, and those with pre-existing personality conflicts, though not limited to those groups. It is how most of the adult world works. They want to see what you are made of.
I tend to gravitate to authority positions while still rather new to a job, so I have faced it many times. Grad students who didn't like that I was in charge of the chemical stockroom and experiments as a freshman. Becoming the lead on an QA/QC'ed assembly line after being there 4 months. Refinery workers with 10 years of experience more than me didn't like it when I gained a position overseeing safety/process after I had been there 2 years. Other positions as well. The methods varied, from talking behind my back to others (including my boss) to threatened violence and lots of things in between, but they all tested me. It takes a certain skill set to handle these types of things.
It's not just human nature, actually, mammals do it as well.

Awesome.... now mogul can add some more employees/programmers and bring this game to the next level.
Congrats Clay/Mogul Team on another great version of the game!

Ahh, I left out an important thing/item from my diatribe, sometimes it is just good-natured bantering. And that, in my experience, is the best way to handle it, assume it is good-natured bantering until somethings proves otherwise.

Ohm spend a lot of time on the forum ,he has "changed" it also since he has become a "mod" cleaning it up here n there but this has lead to several counter reactions (these are commentsno objectivity just subjectivity):
1) people DONT like change, they say they do,but really they don't - Ohm's actions, can be percieved as SK states,in this light
2) Ohm is opinionated - his pesonnality & opinions have lead to clashes & some people/posters will see his "promotion" as a chance to gain revenge &
3) Ohm is new to the position & there will be a "jealousy" counter-reaction

I would have thought you would have been an excellent moderator & would assume that most co-posters would agree

Banter is one thing expletives are another - as stated in my post I think YOU would be an excellent moderator. The reasons are seen throught out the forum (sticky's,comments etc) & most importantly (in my eyes) it is very very rare that you get into a "heated argument" & when you do so you come backed up (i.e.multiple links to coroporate your analysis/idea)
Just my thoughts

he has banned quite a few more than one :)
I am really happy he is here as a moderator. I can Concentrate on my passion, which is BMO. I really have a lot of fun playing it, and in the 7 leagues I am in, I am only good in one of them. (Cascade), but I have fun.
Of course I will buy 2k8... to support Clay, and Sports Mogul, but my main support goes into BMO. Too bad my $14.95 per month and $180.00 per year only covers bandwidth....
FYI, BMO is not a cash cow. I wish it was. When we built it, we assumed it would bring in enough money to pay folks to do customer support. It doesn't. It barely brings in enough to pay for the bandwidth.
Pretty sad indeed. I wish more people would sign up to the game that is really unique.
Also guys, on retail games, Clay might only get paid a couple of dollars for every game sold at $19.9X. On games sold on the site, he gets to keep every penny. I do suggest that people do buy the game off the website to support it. And than buy a friend a copy of the game via Retail.
So even if he sold 100,000 copies of the game, he may have only made $200-$300 k which is really little...
Even if this story is a Fabrication, the truth is the game is growing. And reaching places that it couldn't without Enlight.
I found this game from Game Stop way back in 2002. I never even heard of this game. If James Grove, Clay, Ian, Dee didnt get this game on a publisher back than, the game may have never gained its popularity it has now. Clay followed the roots of a publisher, and is game grew, trifold or more :)
Now, I will go back to BMO, where my passion lies :)

Yes, Baseball mogul, has been the #1 baseball game in the past. It created this market.

Is that just a hunch, or do you have any proof? If Clay could comment on this, it'd be cool :).

it is too bad he shuns dave so, tho. I dont seem to see him on as much now that his threads all get closed. Oh well... Thats why Ohms is the
'Moderator". I guess he knows what heis doing *shrug* We are getting off topic as usual tho :)
Nice work Clay and Co. or is in Clay and INC... hehehe :p Heres to 150,000 next year. I had no idea the game sold so well. good work man. and with it getting more publicity and being on the shelves at major stores it will DEFINATLY do better.

oh, I don't have anything against dave at all. I just have a problem with "when's X patch coming?", "when's beta starting?", and three different threads on the same subject, is all...
Incidentally, I've seen Dave on just as much now as he's ever been. I see him almost every night.
:)
I'm also curious about what makes you think that the story is bogus, after reading it boomboom?

FYI: that's aparently not the first story that Clay has done with GameDaily BIZ.
