View Full Version : 9.45 Dead players still playing

To make the game as realistic as possible, i decided to put the late cory lidle death year into the game and played a full season of the game, starting in 2006. Once i got to the 2007 season after i extended his contract, he was still pitching for me.:confused: I have noticed this before when i tried to kill off people who i didn't want but my team kept on wanting me to put them in my MLB roster. Is this a bug?

u must retire them first.

It's a bug thats been here forever. :p

Like Poet said, you can go into the player editor and retire them manually come the time.

I remember this being fixed somewhere around 9.43 though, and I haven't personally seen a dead player playing in weeks of game play time. This sounds more like an user created problem to me, to be honest...

Lucky for You ....(but I did see a dead team unfortunately doing it ....°)

I think it's been mentioned as fixed a number of times but Clay still has to fine tune it...I havent seen it, but I dont play prior to 2006, and I don't edit death dates.

well what i did was went into player editor at the start of the 2006 season, making him dead at the end of 2006. After that, no other changes, i simmed to April 1, 2007. When i got there, he was still on the roster. Yes, i manually editied it myself, causing the problem, but this was not my intentions. Here is a screen shot which for some reason i couldn't download last night to describe what im saying.

You'll have to manually RETIRE him from the player editor right now.

Now, were he playing for the Cubs, it would make sense. It's well known that dead people can vote in Chicago...I don't see why they couldn't play baseball. ;)
