I'm hoping I can guide the Mets farther in the postseason in '99 and 2000. I'm also hoping that I can stay with a good team over a long period of time. This is my 1st time posting a dynasty, so tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm on Coach level difficulty, and I plan to round my budget up to $100,000,000, since it's $98,000,000 now.

Here is the roster I'm starting with:

C:\Documents and Settings\MICHAEL\My Documents\My Pictures\rosterapril1st1998

I hope the picture comes up.

OK, it didn't. Can somebody tell me how to find the URL of a picture?

Let's try once more:
Damn it! It says my file is too big! How do I shrink a file?

OK, for now I'll just write stuff out.

No trading deadline. Interleague play. Women join the league in 2010. NO DH in NL or AL. Montreal Expos are Washington Nationals. Reds move to AL West.
My budget is actually $10 million.

Just for the safety of my franchise, I've decided to give myself 30 million dollars. I've signed Joel Peralta(64/75) to a 1.5 million dollar, 3 year contract with a player option thru 2003.

Padres get:
OF Jason Tyner (54/62)- Won't really amount to much at all.

OF Timo Perez (65/72)- Another one of the odds and ends in my minors. Won't amount to anything amazing either

Mets get:

RF Tony Gwynn (86)- He may be 37 years old, but I'll worry about the future when it is the future.

Another Trade:

A's get:
3B/1B Jim Tatum (54/60)
C Vance Wilson (64/66)

Mets get:

RP Jim Dougherty (70)
RP Buddy Groom (79)

This was basically a give-in.

Not to be a complainer, because I like dynasties, but your readers would be more likely to follow along and invest themselves in your Mets dynasty if you looked twice at your formatting, for stuff such as this..

May 3rd- League Leaders
BA- Ellis Burks .429
HR- Mike Piazza, Dave Nillson, Greg Vaughn, Mark McGwire, and Brian Jordan-ERA- Doug Drabek 1.23
Wins- Juan Guzman 6
We don't know how many home runs Piazza, Nillson, Vaughn etc. have and a casual reader (which many of us are because these threads get so long) would not have noticed Doug Drabek leads in era as he's mixed in with all the home run hitters.

I'm no shining example of clarity myself, but when you say "Jay Payton now plays 2B and bats 8th", I want to know why our Amazin's converted their lifetime OF to 2B and hopefully know a bit about how this will help the team in the near future.

Only saying...

Revised Bullpen:
CL: Franco
SU- Dan Plesac
SR- Rojas
SR- Dennis Eckersley
MR- McMichael
LR- Wendell

May 8th
Another Trade-
Mets get:
SS Rey Sanchez(80)

Giants get:
IF Kazuo Matsui (70/80)

metsguy234
10-14-2006, 08:17 AM
We needed Payton to play 2nd because our other 2nd baseman only had a 68 overall rating, and he was the best guy on our bench there was to replace him.

I'm putting Al Leiter on the trading block b/c his ERA is 5.82 with a 1-2 record.

Cardinals get:
P Al Leiter (91)

Mets get:
1B Chris Richard (68/75)
P Kent Mercker (76)
SS Royce Clayton (80)
2B Placido Polanco (80/85)
$2,000,000

Al Leiter was becoming useless- with an ERA of 5.82
In the trade I got a couple of prospects, a major league ready shortstop, and a reliable starting pitcher

Next Trade:

Mets get:
RF Paul O'Neill (89)
P Juan Padilla (70/75)
P Jorge DePaula (46/79)
P Jake Westbrook (56/86)

Yankees get:
P Dave Mlicki (77)
P Bill Pulshiper (68/76)
CF Tsuyoshi Shinjo (65/70)

Mlicki was more dead weight- his ERA was 7.31- I had to let him go.
