DEF rating in FIND PLAYER screen

Howdy all, I have not been able to figure out the DEF rating on the FIND PLAYER screen is calculated. Sometimes it looks like the average of (range & fielding) but most of the time it makes no sense to me. Is there a way of figuring out how this is calculated? Thanks Bryce

I think that it's usually about the median value of the three defensive ratings, but that doesn't always work.

Clay has specific weights that he gives to each rating in it's effect on overall, peak, and defense. I've never been able to figure out what the exact weightings are though, unfortunatly.

You bring up a good point. I would love to search for a Catcher by handling rating or a CF by range, but it does seem to group a variety players together?
