So I started a career in 2006 with HoustonGM's roster up-date. I simmed the whole 2006 season with no human teams. After the 2006 season I created two teams, one in Las Vegas and one in Charlotte and made Charlotte human controlled. I get to the Amateur Draft and it turns out Arizona got its regular pick, plus Charlotte's and Las Vegas'. So the D-Backs got 18 picks while the two new franchises got none. I never noticed this bug in previous versions.

Make sure that
1) There's only one-human controlled team (unless you want two, if thats the case, tell me and Ill tell you what else to do)
and
2) Charlotte is selected in the Lineup screen before the draft.

Only one human team and Charlotte is selected.
Interesting though, I just simmed through 2007, and the next amateur draft works perfectly fine. Something probably messed up with when I created the teams. I created them right after the free agent signing period started in 2006.

I have seen this bug before also. The only thing i have found to fix it is to just force trade them to Charlotte and Las Vegas.

Did you create the teams AFTER simming to the free agent period?
That might be what FrenchRedSox is talking about. When adding teams, always make sure to do it PRIOR to simming to the free agent period. (Meaning, do it immediately after the World Series)
Also, be warned that you might start to see some weird scheduling.

Two questions.
1. How do you hold an amateur draft with several human players so that all the picks don't go to one team?
2. Is there any scheduling options (such as unbalanced schedule) that can be turned on/off to avoid weird scheduling with several teams?

Go to the lineup screen prior to each pick and change the team.
2. Is there any scheduling options (such as unbalanced schedule) that can be turned on/off to avoid weird scheduling with several teams?
I'm not sure on that one.

Is there still a problem with two human controlled teams and the amateur draft? i thought that issue was resolved LAST year?

There is, but you would have to sit down and figure it out. the key is obviously to keep the number of games required to be played against each team correct. Any of us could probably sit down and figure this all out for ourselves, Personally I just haven't had the time is all.

No problem really, you just need to select which team is active... well, I guess that's a problem in that the game really ought to change what team is active automatically during a draft. But, simply going to any screen that allows you to change which team is selected and doing so before making a choice in the draft is a reliable work around.
