scouting bug

i am 1st in league in scouting. one day it said + or - 0. Just one day later, with no change in scouting budget, it said + or - 4. I then raised it and it said + or -7. What can i do about this :confused:

I'm not sure, we need more details. first, please verify that you're using 9.45. Also was this a brand new game, or one that you have been playing for a while? 2006 season, future season, or an historic season? What is everyone else's scouting spending at, and are you still in first? How much cash do you have on hand? What difficulty level are you playing at?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was inherint (sp?) in the game... I know it was in BBM2k6.

After all, your scouts don't scout your players every day.... Besides, do you really want it at 0 all the time? Where's the fun? And shouldn't it be based on how they play anyway?

well yea, but it shouldn't be random. I've never seen scouting change randomly, either.

Yeah, it can change because other teams pass you in rank. Your +/- is based off your rank compared to other teams, not the amount ofmoney you put in.

it is 9.45 it is historic from 1901. its now 1918 i am 2nd in spending and in 1st place in my division i am playing in manager

um, your 2nd in scouting spending? have you been adjusting it at all?
What teams have a better scouting rating than you do?

Anyway... i'm not really sure this is a bug. It could very well be, but until we know for sure i'm going to move it to the general discussions forum. If you or anyone can provide more details, it would be helpfull.

just to try i changed my scouting funding to 0 and during one month it was + or - 5, then 4, then 3, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 8. This is with the same scouting funding. for now im just keeping it like this but more help would be welcome

It changes because it isn't dependent on YOUR funding, but rather your ranking compared to other teams...given that its at 0 the entire season...it should probably be like consistnetly bad, and it did get worse as the season progreessed...

The rating you receive is also dependant on your average spending over the prior number (three ?) of seasons. It never changes instantly. You need to maintain a high level of spending for a significant perior do time in order to increase scouting, but by the same token it decreases slowly as you lower spending. (well, i should change the above to read: your average ranking in relation to other teams, not your average raw spending. As HGM said, it doesn't matter how much you spend, but where you rank.)

You never have answered the question of how much the other teams are actually spending on scouting.

i moved it back to 16 million and it went to 1, then 2, and now 3 while always being first the average team is spending 7 million, but anywhere from 15 to 0.
