It's been that way for 2 years now. Crazy Crazy Crazy, but about to start a new game, so shouldn't matter too much.

You all may want to go and read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) (http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=119214) list. Specifically, focus on question #15.

The short answer to your specific question "How can i have a payroll budget of -13.3 million?", is that you're currently $13.3 million over the "budget" that the game is calculating for you. It doesn't mean anything specific.

Remember not to go too nuts on the expenses area. Being number one in these categories is nice, but your payroll budget is directly affected by expenses. Go to the summary page and adjust those to see what I mean.

I agree with the last poster, brng up the finaces page and the addjustment sliders for medical, farm system, and scouting. since you are running you team you really don't need scouting .. medical can be set with some money [I was between 20 and 30th with the Brewers and won three world championships and made the playoffs 10 years in a row. ] where you spend money is directly related to how much you have for payroll

You have inifinite money for payroll....Payroll budget is just a guideline, not a limit.

That's terrible advise. Scouting affects the roster auto-sort directly, if you use that. More importantly though, scouting affects everything that you can see about a player except his old stats. If you don't have scouting, you'll have no idea if a player is ready to bring up, or is burnt out, until after it's happened.
You don't need A+ level, +/-0 scouting to see this stuff to be successfull, but you should spend some to keep from being F and +/-10 scouting.
