Here's a save file you can use to play either team in the Super Bowl. To play as the Colts, go to the league editor and make Bears a computer team, and Colts a human team.
The only ranking updating I've done so far is on the QBs and kickers. Also I've put a few people on the disabled list. Oh and I've updated Joseph Addai. All the updating was done simply by entering a composite of their regular season and playoff stats.
Feel free to customize further and post your save file. I will post if I update anything else. Let me know who wins so I can place my bets wisely. ;)

Well I played it. I was DA BEARS!!! Computer was down by one, 22 seconds to go, 1st down at my 19 yard line. Easy field goal to win the game, right?
Naw, the AI ran it twice to run out the clock, losing 24-23. I'll chock that up to an odd AI error and see it as a 2 point Colts win.

Yea, the AI has a real problem with kicking winning field goals...

Yeah actually this is like my 3rd experience with it. All 3 times the computer failed to do it I'm pretty sure.

There's a bug report about it... here: 5.120 AI don't make FG's towards end of halfs (http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=130633&highlight=field)
I just realized that I failed to rename the thread a while back, but I've taken care of that now.

Question-- when I start the game, it shows my Bears special teams unit as 2 stars. And it shows time after time as Indy consistently runs back kickoffs into my own territory.
I put in Devin Hester's great season numbers, and that hasn't helped-- still 2 stars.
What can I edit to upgrade this Bears special teams unit to the 4+ stars they deserve?

I'm not really sure.

it seems to me how well you punt is what determines more of the special team ratings...for example i got a punter that average 40 plus yards per punt now and my punting rating is 4 stars up from 1

hehe
Somehow I doubt that that's what's going to actually happen though. Although, I wouldn't mind in the least if the Bears actually win. :D

yeah it's in part to 240 rushing yards from Thomas Jones, compliments of the still over-rated draw plays.

Okay I played it again, and it had a different outcome. It all came down to on play. I had it at the 50 yard line, 9 seconds to go. Called a hail mary. Since I had no time outs left, there's no time for a field goal, even if I complete downfield...
Bears 21 / Colts 24
0:09 CHI 1-10 (-- 50) Hail Mary Dime Package Grossman 50-yard TD pass to Gage
Final: Bears 28 / Colts 24
The weird thing was, in the play by play it said "Colts win on the final play of the game!" But then it let me kick the PAT, and on the recap clearly showed the Bears as having won the game. Minor bug I guess.

It should still be reported, if it's actually a problem. ...Football's rules say that the game is actually over at that point? Their not (even theoretically) required to actually attempt the extra point?

I was just thrilled to win. The main thing I wanna report is that the play by play calling gets the team wrong sometimes. Not the first time I've seen it. But it did give me a scare though! I was jumping around celebrating then I saw "Colts Win on last play of the game!!!" and I was like wtf. But then it was just a glitch, Bears had won after all. DA BUGSSS!!!

Oh here's why I wish I could find a way to make the Bears Special teams to show up as 5 stars:
Sports Illustrated: [NFL record setting 6 return TDs] Hester isn't the only player who flourishes on Chicago's special teams. Kicker Robbie Gould and Brendon Ayanbadejo, a reserve linebacker used primarily on coverage, give Chicago three of the four players on the NFC's Pro Bowl special-teams unit. And the Bears unit has been so special that punter Brad Maynard -- a Pro Bowl alternate - easily could have been a fourth. Even Chicago's long snapper, Patrick Mannelly, is considered to be one of the best at his position.

Okay here is my updated file. I have gone through and made ever Bears starter the actual expected starter for the Super Bowl. If a Colts fan wants to do the same for the Colts go for it.
I decided to auto-sim it 5 times and post the results, so you know which side is favored without human intervention. Here are the results:
Colts 20-7
Colts 20-14
Colts 23-10
Colts 21-20
Colts 31-0
