I think it would be alot more realistic if the players got to choose which teams to play for, rather than you being able to buy them at will. In real life, Barry Zito can choose where he wants to play, where as in BM, you pay a price and you automatically sign him.

Yup, implementing some sort of Player Agent AI, where the player actually has input on the teams he would play on and the salary he asks for from those team, is something that we've been discussing here for quite a while.
