Changes from 5.130 to 5.140:

Field goal AI finally fixed
Draw plays fixed (had been too effective)
Prevent defenses tweaked (had been too effective against the run, and not enough against long passes)
Passing engine tweaked (generally increased short pass completion percentage relative to longer passes).
Sacks increased for Linebackers and Defensive Backs
Effect of defensive skills increased (to increase the difference between good defensive teamd and bad defensive teams)


To install the unofficial patch, download and unzip FB2K7-v5130.zip. The only file is FB2K7.exe. Copy this over the FB2K7.exe file in your existing Football Mogul installation (by default, this is at c:/Program Files/Sports Mogul/Football 2007/FB2K7.exe).

We've investigated some of the crash reports but haven't been able to reproduce all of them. If the game crashes, you should be prompted to send an error report to us. Please do so and we'll investigate the cause of the crash.

P.S. This zip file also includes a Universe.dat file with SLIGHTLY updated player projections.

Something must have gone wrong when he went to attach it. I've sent him a message that he forgot it or whatever, so hopefully it'll be up soon.

Thanks a million, Clay! Nice work! Although, the fixed FG bug means that I'll start losing even MORE games now.... :-)So the FG bug wasn't as much with the coach AI as with the code that decided the "field goal range" of each kicker. So the game would pass on the FG attempt with many kickers because it didn't think it has a reasonable chance of making the kick. That should fix the reported problems with the lack of late-game and overtime field goals.

The file looks to be there now... I really hope it fixes the bugs listed effectively, because I haven't booted up this game since I hit the FG bug the first time... This could be a playable game now... My fingers are crossed!

Wait the prevent defense was too effective? On another post a couple people strongly complained that the prevent defenses didn't work at all.

I made a tool to record all the play results and found that prevent was too effective against the run and short passes, and not effective enough against long passes. So this should fix both issues.

But they were as effective or more so that some of the standard 3rd-down defenses, so I wanted to make sure they only made sense in late-game or 3rd and LONG situations.

I have downloaded this patch and played it. It has made a big improvement. Best.

Agreed. My only quibble may be with the number of rushing TDs, but I haven't played enough season to get a handle on things. After I've simmed 10-15 seasons, I'll download an encyclopedia and check out the rushing TD stats. Other than that, this game just keeps getting better.
