I just tried to update to 10.01 and it won't let me. First time I tried it it asked me if I wanted to install the update, I clicked yes and it gave me an error message. (Sorry didn't write it down, thought it was because I had too much other stuff open) but now I can't get it to update when I start up and the version still says 10.00. Any advice?

Actually, me too. I was just going to come and look for something about this myself.

You will have to download it manually and run it:

http://www.sportsmogul.com/Updates/BaseballMogul/2008/Files/BB2K8-1001F.exe

The problem is the installer we are using has a bug and I upgraded to fix it and the new version has some changes I was not aware of. Ugh. :-)

Edit: 10.02 is due in a few minutes anyway... :-)

That's cool.

FYI: the download works. The updater actually downloads the patch, so there will be a BB2K8-1001F.exe file in your Baseball mogul 2008 directory. Let the updater fail, open the game directory, and click the BB2K8-1001F.exe to patch.

better to install 10.01 or wait for 10.02?

Go ahead and install it. It's always best to keep up to date with the beta. At least then you're certain that the bugs that you see are current.

10.02 is out. Auto-update should work this time. :-)

I'm not getting it to update or even ask if I want to.

woohoo!

I'm not getting it to update or even ask if I want to.
Open the game, Click Help on the menu, and then click "Check for updates". It'll grab it then (I think it only checks automatically once a day).

No problems installing 10.02. If anyone has any additional problems, please start a new thread.
