Almost everyone has won a WS, but who actually is the best?

It's been a long time since we've elected someone to the BBMO Hall of Fame (if that thread still exists somewhere), but who are the guys you actually consider to be the best all of Baseball mogul?

There's no reason that we can't start nominating names, and starting polls.

Scooter12321, Ssvinny, Shutface, khkoenig and Scotty are hard to beat.

I'm sure there are others, but these are the one's that I played against. Incuding Kotoll which was already mentioned.

Vote!
:)

75% gets a person in. I'll periodically restart and/or edit the poll to keep it up to date. Be aware that everyone can see your votes in the poll.

Edit: Actually, I'll make all polls 10 real days long, and then post new polls every 10 days. 75% gets the person in. 50%(?) keeps them on the ballot. Nominations for the next ballot should be posted in the current poll thread.

If I put effort into a team, depending on if my work schedule is light or not. I can be really good. (look at my history in the CL), With my work schedule, I can usually only focus on one team at a time! If you look at my history in BoTB, and IL30. I can get the team going, then my work gets in my way. I really wish we were paid to play this game. :)

There are lot of great names left off of this list. For this vote what are we looking for? The guy who knows the most? The one with the most success?

I know one of my Votes will go to JMO. He has perhaps the best resume of all GM's who have ever played. He has won 2 Cash Money Leagues and an elimination league. He has dominated every league I have even seen him in, and there isn't anything he doesn't know. Some GM's on this list have had a ton of recent success and are definitely top of the heap, but the only GM I can think that has a body of work in JMO's territory is Khan.

shouldnt voters be limited to actual bbmonline members?

Just like the real Hall Of Fame, It's pretty much up to the voters to decide. I think that you've outlined the some qualifiers pretty well here. As for this vote vs. the next vote and those to follow, I plan on putting up 10 names regardless of how many are actually nominated. If need be, I'll start pulling names from the World Series Rankings list. The important thing is just to start getting people to vote, state their cases, and state their reasons for voting.
I have some personal experience with JMO and Kotoll, so they both got my vote here. I also voted for Scooter, mostly on the strength of his record.

shouldnt voters be limited to actual bbmonline members?

Yes, please. There's no way to actually limit it, but if you don't play BBMO, please don't vote.

Is there any minimum criteria for this? Seems like there should be something.

Not right now, really. I put up names that were nominated, is all.
Feel free to propose something, though. We're doing this ourselves, so any rules or criteria is completely up to us.

Voted. I included Boomboom in my vote not just for his teams, but he always seemed available to help despite his workload.

There are a ton of great names being left off this ballot... Khan, Deke, Jimmyst, Brent, Mavngoose, Jmarter, Hash, and Myself included.

Anyway, could you adjust the poll to show another vote for SSvinny. I didn't see his name up there but he deserves a vote as well.

Michael, I vote for those same ones. except for jimmyst. I just don't like tanking. I real life you can't really do that without being fired first. At the same time, this isn't about real life but how you play this game the best.

What ever happened to dejapooh? Anybody know. He was an amazing owner in Dabruinss League... can't even tell you how many WS he won. He had the Dodgers on lock down for multiple resets. I nominate him.

I'd also like to nominate Dabs... I got goose bumps when he came back to the forum of his DaBruinss league yesterday.

I haven't seen him win a single world series... but he's a legendary Commish.

Excellent point and partly why I voted for Boomboom. There are some owners that simply know how to run good teams, but guys that Dabe, boomboom and ohms have done an excellent job helping out in Mogul without any payment. Do their teams win? Not really, but it's great to have them in your league. Dabs was a huge help a year ago when I started to commish.

I'd also like to nominate Sturge, Nysteinbrenner, Cjennings, Oswalt44, Craigrrs, Kaill, Sevenseas, and Dismaldream to a future ballot.

Craig, Kaill, Seven, and Dismal made a name for themselves in the long forgotten CML series.

Cjennings has dominated Dabruinss League for almost 4 real life years now.

Oswalt44 hardly ever posts but is definately what I would consider one of the "silent elite". He knows more about this guy than most.

Sturge has only had 1 losing season in like 3 real life years in Mogul.

Nysteinbrenner belongs in the class of Jmarter, Dabs, Boomboom, Jokerswild and Myself as our biggest contribution to this game has been leading some of the finest leagues ever to have come down the pike. This Hall of Fame thing definately needs a Commish wing.

What we need to do is make a compilation of past accomplishments for all the nominees. Most are just voting for who they know, not necessarily based on their histories.

I think I had 27 seasons in a row making the playoffs, 5WS, 26 Divisional titles. Plus good runs with minnesota, seattle, and KC :) But of course when time gets in my way, I can not give my team 100%.

I voted for JMO. His combination of brute force and GM manipulation makes for some ridiculously difficult teams to go up against. In the leagues I'm at when I reach the point where my team is how I want it and it's on "auto-pilot" I feel confident enough to let it be, but I can never seem to beat JMO.

I agree as well. That'll be easy enough to do. I'll simply start designating one or more votes as Commissioner votes, is all.

If Your Doing A Commish Part To Be Up Vote Then I Vote Daves Starting The 144 Equalized League Which Is Now In Year 2218 I Think.

And Also What About Jorge100 He Was A Tough Gm In The 144 Also Gravestock Gets My Nomination To.

In terms of skill I would say Khan or Deke probably are the ones who deserve it. Out of this list I would have to go with JMO. Michael, dabs, steinbrenner, JW and maybe trueWS(that might not have been his BMO name. one of the leagues he ran was the old BotB draft league ) should be added for being the best commishes

I have played against most of the big time players over my time in BBMO. The person I would vote for would be Khan. He is to me the person who has built the most dominant or strong teams over the leagues I have played against. I am proud to call him one of my personal rivals. :)
