I thought it might have been a fluck but for three years in a row I have not recived a superstar type pitcher. This year was the worst yet.
3 years I am number 1 in farm team spending without a young stud pitcher!!! What gives.
Take a look at NYA in the Baseball Mogulers league

Is your team any good? If your team has a good record, you will pick low in the draft every year when you have a good record. This is a new feature implementation that adds realism...so if you win the World Series every year, and have #1 farm, chances are your prospects will not be as good as a team that finishes 62-100 and has #1 farm.

2010 75-87 4th (AL East)
2011 63-99 5th (AL East)
2012 82-80 3rd (AL East)
2013 86-76 4th (AL East)
Not a lot of winning. So what do you think. Maybe a decent pitcher in 3 years for spending 220 points for 3 years in a row.... maybe?

You have a good point. The balance may seem like it is off...but I think that with pitchers, you have to really let them develop before you see them turn into superstars. With batters, sometimes you can just pop them into the lineup and watch them hit 50 HR. Has anyone else experienced a lack of pitching prospects like this?

Tom,
I have, but I agree with you on the batters vs pitchers coming out of the draft/farm system.

so then, let me get this straight - if I have a good team but am #1 in farm and there is a bad team who is last in the standings and farm spending - the bad team will get the better players
what then is the point of the farm spending system (is this just for develpment?)

what then is the point of the farm spending system (is this just for develpment?) No, it's not that significant. Basically, if you are #1 farm, but you win 110 games, you are getting a low pick, so you do not get as good prospects as you would if you were #1 farm and won 60 games.
Still, you would be getting much better prospects than the team ranked #30 in farm.
So, if you want good prospects, the best time to raise your farm is if you are rebuilding and expect few wins.
Farm system also determines how your players develop in AAA and how many players you receive.
