10.13 won't patch because I partitioned my hard drive for specific purposes like one for mp3's and another for games like Sports Mogul. Is there anyway I can patch the game manually without the auto update?

What happens to cause it not to patch?

Well the auto updater is trying to update the game files on the C drive but I have Sports Mogul on my D drive. I was trying to come up with a solution so that it would save on the proper drive letter but I couldn't find anyway to do that.

Ah, I see. Hopefully Ian notices this thread and looks into this. Good question.
...Best solution that I can envision is for the game to report it's complete path information to the installer every time it checks for an update. Without knowing the details about the installer, I don't know how feasable that is but...
*shrug*
Anyway, like I said, hopefully he notices this.

Have you tried using a program like system mechanic to change your default installation directory in your registry?? for example, I moved my My Documents folder and Programs Folder to different drives from my OS, I used system mechanic to change the default installation directory and I never have the problem you are having anymore. In addition programs now want to install to the correct drive automatically...

I ordered the 2008 game at work and installed it on my laptop.
I now want to install it on my home computer by copying the install file from my laptop to my home computer.
I'd rather not download the install file again because I have dial-up at home (curses no DSL!)
When I try to install, it give me an error that it can't download installation data from the web. - yes I have a connection
Additionally - I've never had this problem before - I've started downloading it, looks like it'll take about 90 min - argh!
Help!
Thanks
ok, I downloaded it from the web onto my computer (multiple hours later using dialup), I go to install and get the same MESSAGE. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

I also can't patch and receive the same error message and don't feel like playing until I'm able to.
Why was this moved from the bug section? Anything that potentially requires a manual update to a registry is a bug IMO.

After I patched to 10.13, an error message came up when I tried to play:
"To install Baseball Mogul patch please copy the BB2K8 file into your Baseball Mogul installation BEFORE you attempt to run the program."
I'm not very skilled at computers, so what does that mean, and how do I get 10.13 to work?

When Baseball Mogul is installed, it writes a registry entry with the install path.
If you then move the install directory elsewhere, the patcher doesn't know this and uses the directory listed in the registry.
If you change the registry entry it should continue to work.
You can also extract the update file manually with a zip program and copy the files over yourself as a last resort.

I bought Mougul '08 i dunno, a couple weeks ago. I downloaded it and am trying to install it, yet it keeps giving me this error message:

Even when I am connected to the internet. What's going on?

um... Baseball Mogul 2008 has only been available for purchase for 3 days.
Try deleting the installation program that you've got, and re-download it. It's probably a corrupt download.
If you have XP, check and make sure that Windows Firewall isn't blocking the port that the installer needs. Actually, just turn it off and try the installation.
...That's about the only thing I can think of right now.

So far, I haven't seen anything said that indicates a bug. If it turns out that there is a problem then I can always move it back or someone can start a new thread with an actual bug report. In the meantime this is a support issue, not a bug.
Also, Ian posted this above:
