I always thought the rule was that when a pitcher left a game, he couldn't return. But in my "Even The Braves" universe, Glenn Mickens gets a second chance when he pitches the second inning for the National League, then is replaced, then comes back to pitch the bottom of the sixth.
I am posting the box score and play-by-play. Note that the box score works properly, giving Mickens credit in the line for both innings that he pitched. (I will eliminate some of the play-by-play to fit it all into the post.)

I get this a lot for some reason when I simulate games and then go back and look at the game recap ofextra inning games that have been played for my team

It's a small thing, but hey, you should know about it anyway. In one of my game recaps:
Bottom of the eighth:
"Fred Odell pinch hit for Amos Rusie."
Top of the ninth:
"Ernie Baker came in to pitch for the Reds."
Top of the tenth:
"Amos Rusie on the mound for the Reds."
The box score got it right, showing eight innings for Rusie and two innings for Baker, but I don't know if the sim really thinks it's Rusie or Baker out there.
Second, we won the game in the bottom of the tenth, when one of the Reds drove in two runs with a single. Obviously, the game should have ended when the first run scored (I know this is a known bug, I'm just bringing it up).
But here's the final line of the recap is funny. It says "Reds win 10-8" but on the right hand side next to the runners LOB it says 8 runs for the Giants and 12 for the Reds.
Again, the box score got it right. I think there's just something screwy in the recap system.
Forgot to mention, this is version 10.16
It's more than just the pitcher re-entering the game, by the way (which has now happened more than once). It's the final score on the lower right hand side. It seems to always add a few runs to the winner.

I know. there's a separate thread for that though. The standard in the bug reporting forum is to, as much as possible, keep each thread confined to a single subject.
The thread regarding game winning runs is here: 10.14 Game winning runs don't immediately end the game (http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=137959&highlight=Game+winning+run)

No, I understand that error. This is different. In this case, the game ends properly, the score in the box score is correct, it's just on the right hand side, the winning side gets more runs added. I don't know why.

That's only because the bug was only partially fixed and/or it only affects certain games in certain ways.

I'm not quite sure what version I'm playing, but it's the demo one on the main site. As you can see, it says Roy Halladay pitched the 7th, was pulled for the 8th, and came back for the 9th. Also, you're going to have to take my word for this, but Haren should not be there at all. I pulled him first thing for Rich Harden in the 1st, yet it says Danny Haren.
Again, I'm not sure if one can patch the demo. This is the demo.
Update: The box score works perfectly. http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/8872/20070407223251nh6.jpg

Check the recap attached. Top of the fifth, Enrique Gonzalez comes in to pitch. Next inning, it says Doug Davis is on the mound for the Diamondbacks, although he was taken out for Enrique, and Enrique pitched up until Jose Valverde came in in the 9th. Dave Williams coming in for Oliver Perez turned out fine.
however, I checked other recaps, and it seems as though it happesn almost all the time. At the beginning of the inning, if it isn't anew pitcher, it always shows the original starter. Another recap I checked though, it was one of the other relievers that came in and then was taken out that wasl isted as on the mound even though he wasn't in the game anymore.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Not really a big thing though.

Yea, I remember reporting about this sort of thing during beta.
Never thought about it Houston, so I went back and checked a few boxes and recaps and you're right, even though the box scores are correct. Strange. Just another of the small inaccuracies that need to be addressed along with the ERA, winning pitcher, OF errors, etc. problems, that have been brought up. Good catch by you.

I was looking over a simmed playoff game when I noticed that Jered Weaver started a game and pitched the 10th and 12th innings. This is strange because Bobby Jenks pitched the 11th, and Huston Street pitched the 9th.

I played this game in PBP mode (Manager). Chad Bradford came into finish the 6th and he pitched the 7th (as the box score and game recap says). Their closer Chris Ray came for the start of the 8th (as the BS and GR says) for the 2 innings save (nice to see). He came back out for the 9th (as the BS says). Ray gave up a homer in the 9th and that was attributed to his stats. But, according to the Game Recap it was Chad Bradford on the Mound. Also, something interesting, Bradford's fastball topped out at 88 in the the 7th inning and Ray's topped out at 91. In the 9th it topped out at 94.

This has been brought up before but don't know that anything was ever done with it. I guess not.
I had Kip Wells and Brett "Bomko" Tomko pitching for me. (Hey, it's an expansion team.) Wells went the first 6 innings and Bomko went that last 3. The PBP recap shows Bomko coming in for the 7th but then switches back to Wells for the 8th. The stats for the last 3 innings correctly went to Bomko, and he even got the good ol' 3 inning save in this game.

I had a relief pitcher come in in the 8th inning then, in the 9th, the starter was back.
Not sure if this is a bug but as I understand it once a player is substituted he is out the game.

Are you talking about in the game recap, or in play-by-play, he actually came back in?

My understanding of the bug is that it only appears in the HTML play-by-play and not the text box play-by-play.

Yes, it only appears in the game recaps.

Glavine started the game, then Mussina came in, then Glavine was back in? Glavine had 5IP and Mussina had 4IP. So it's obviously just a matter of inserting the correct name in the text.
