Microsoft Upgrade messed up forum

Last night Microsoft "upgraded"; my "features" but since:

HTML is off & I can't edit "nicely" my posts (underlines/black/italic etc...) does anyone know HOW I can get 'em back ?? It says "vB Code vB code is a set of tags based on the HTML language that you may already be familiar with. They allow you to add formatting to your messages in the same way as HTML does, but have a simpler syntax and will never break the layout of the pages you are viewing. The ability to use vB Code is set on a forum-by-forum basis by the administrator, "

Yep it is ...1st thing I checked (lol) --- on my posting rules "HTML code is Off"

(must have affected Admin "ruling")

Well it says it is but as I say the panel for smilies/underline just DONT work & even ADVANCED does not work (so no managed files - which is a shame cos I had prepared a file of all AAA photos...)

None - I did NOTHING except allow the comp to turn itself iff to upgrade & since
it is a "difficulty" to write correctly "emphaiszed" posts (as you can see I have to use post Icons rather than smilies to get the "impression" across)

I'm not sure what the problem could be then... What version of FF are you using? (Help -> About shows the version).

Where would I find it in CP cos it has like 10 different "angles"...

I don't know... I know I've seen it somewhere. There's an option when you go to post new threads for "Enable Smilies". Is that checked? What happened when you post a thread with a text smiley typed in? Or when you manually type in something like a quote?

Quotes work..Post Icons work BUT smilies/fonts etc are all "greyed" when normally there is text for font size/police style etc...

As I say I can work around it by "editing my old posts" or by manually typing in

Well I am using 1 navigator for the boards (IE 7) which says IMG code is ON & another for BMO (Firefox) which say IMG code is OFF lol - seems to work for now...

Well, IMG code is off in most of the forums. It is enabled here though.

That weird, it has to be in your settings somewhere, maybe on your computer or something? I have the same version of firefox and everything is working well so i dunno what the problem is.

LOL - neither do I !! As I said IE7 works fine (thatis what I am using on the boards BUT I use firefox for BMO) :eek:

I have gone back to the dark side ever since some articles haven't worked on ESPN with Fire Fox. I love firefox browser thou, also the MLS listings (which I use my fiances password) to check out realestate only uses IE7.

I have 3 browsers on my notebook, Opera seems to be the most advanced, while IE7 seems to be more compatable, and FireFox seems more user friendly and secure...oh and the cookies with BMO...

No clue... Although, I will say this. My FF was recently updated (2.0.0.4) and I've been having trouble with cookies not being saved ever since. I don't know for sure, but I think that there's something funky going on with this version of Firefox.

That could be something going on with the forum software, since the forums went down. The only thing that makes me think otherwise is that (currently) you're the only one that is reporting a problem, which wouldn't make any sense for a groupware app like vbulletin. However, you're one of the few people that I know that's here regularly and is in France... There could be some sort of connectivity issue between here and there. But then, you said that things are fine in IE?

I don't know...:D works FINEin IE lol (just to show that it does work but as I say in Firefox no fonts/sizes/smileys & worst of all NO bold/italic/underlines...)

I don't know man. I'm still having troubles with cookies in Firefox myself, so I'm willing to bet that it has something to do with privacy settings in general. My problems are not limited to the SM forums either. We could go to the Mozillazine forums and start bitchin'...

just as I said very weird using 2 browsers & gets even funnier cos IE doesnt work on BMO ....lol so I HAVE to use Firefox for BMO & IE here *nutty* :confused:

Well it has happened again LOL this happens WHEN FF has a "problem" & has to shutdown & I then re-open it,so not a "forum" problem but a browser problem as IE works fine (ie smilies work & fonts/sizes too).

Also I noticed that when I go to Fox Sports using FF (when not working properly) I "lose" the "live scores" screen at the top ...but I cant use IE for BMO because of the infamous "goes back to log in "problem !

That and occasionally (like yesterday) it won't recognize that I've visited "new" threads, so they stay bolded like there's still new posts in the thread. Sucks.

I keep having trouble with getting forums to "keep" my login whenever I return (you know, the "remember me" check box) with the current version of FF. Weirdest thing is like FF "feeds off" IE cos 30 minutes later the FF problem (no fonts/sizes) & live scores is resolved ...but apparently IE doesn't feed off FF lol as the BMO "return to log in" still persists (& I saw in BMO forum a few IE similar problems - the ONLY thing I figured is IE has a "dominant"machine order ie if you log in from work using IE for the 1ST TIME then that is the ONLY comp that it will recognize...)

Halleluah !! FOUND the problem,I have to "empty" the cache to get back the FONTS/SIZES/SMILEYs etc....weird though.
