Y IS THERE NOT A BASKETBALL MOGUL YET . BASKETBALL IS MY FAVORITE SPORT BUT THERE ARE VERY LIMITED GAMES AND THERE HASNT BEEN A GOOD ONE SINCE LIKE NBA LIVE 98 . SO CAN WE GET INTO THE WORK FOR A BASKETBALL MOGUL . THAT WOULD MAKE MY DAY, MONTH, YEAR, DECADE . DO I HAVE TO MAKE A WWW.WENEEDBASKETBALLMOGUL.COM SITE OR SOMETHING . IT JUST MAKES SENSE . CAN I GET A LAY-UP?

For a simulation game, Basketball is no where near as close in popularity as Baseball. Basketball statistics are in its infancy. While Baseball Stats have been around for at least 10-15 years, actually since the 70's.
In Basketball, and there version of Basketball saber...a good and bad team are not that far off....(IE Steve nash makes everybody look good ;) )
In baseball, it more like the moon, and sun. Stats show this...all 3 dementions....(well fielding stats are not totally accurate...but it shows for pitching ,and hitting)

ok well 1st off let me take my caps off . . . 2nd . i didn know i was in tha wrong area . excuse me . and 3rd . im not a video game engineer . i just know i would love a basketball mogul . cuz i love baseball mogul . not so much football . but basketball would jus be TREMENDOUS . of course i wouldn just off top know how the ends and outs would work so yea criticize me if its necessary . but im just dreaming . i might quit my job and girlfriend if they came out with a basketball mogul . now please somebody . CAN I GET A LAY-UP???

A few months ago, when I was looking around at different sims on the web, I came across a company that had good football and basketball sims (they looked good on the web site anyway). IIRC, you could play different years in pro, college etc. Can't remember the name though. Maybe search the web. It's there.

They both have great games...both companies were part of .400 studios (ootp 3,4 and 5) and split as well as ootp did a couple of years back.
Greydogstudios looks a lot different than the last time I was there...

Looks like Greydog is no more, but the new one at Wolverine studios is the old greydog game updated (at least for the pro game)

at this site (http://www.sportsmogul.com/baseballcd/faq.htm#moguls), it tells the order that sports mogul is planning to go. it says, and i quote,
"Q: Are you currently working on Hockey Mogul or Basketball Mogul?
A: After we release Baseball Mogul 2008 (in March, 2007) our highest priorities are (in order):
Update Baseball Mogul Online with a new database and new features.
Release patches and updates as needed for Baseball Mogul 2008.
Complete Football Mogul 2008 for launch around August, 2007.
Develop Basketball Mogul.
Develop College Football Mogul.
Develop College Basketball Mogul.
Develop Hockey Mogul.
The above list is subject to change."

i hope they come with the idea of makin a basketball mogul even tho the baseball and football one kool...the basketball mogul would be something different and probly enjoyable since all the moguls are

I would. Actually, I'm considering developing something myself. Done a couple of prototypes and whatnot already... Hockey and baseball are my games, so...

Basketball (NBA) Mogul would be AWESOME. Baseball is my favorite sport, but basketball is number 2 and I would LOVE to have Basketball Mogul.

I think you should drop by wolverinestudios and check out draft day sports basketball (pro sim) and total college basketball. Try the demos. I can´t find better basketbal sims than these two.

Yea Lacrosse mogul or Water Polo too.... come on guys be serious BM08 is good but even 4 months after release still needs X patches & FM well... so before Basketball Mogul comes out I would prefer a better BM & BMO ...

No offence to the hardworking clay and associates who have done a heck of a job on baseball mogul, but before trying to add basketball or hockey, or especially ncaa fball mogul, maybe you should put a little more into football mogul first. This is one of the rougher text sims around and needs a loving hand or three on the upcoming version, as it appears to have a case of maddenitis (changed rosters and a different year on the name of the game).
Just my opinion.

That's the thing, Clay really would need at least a couple more programmers in order to expand. At the moment, Baseball Mogul sucks up most of his and Ian's time.

problem with basketball mogul, if you want a realistic financial model, would be the programming of an annually changing salary cap based on league bri, not to mention adding a realistic luxury tax which spreads the collected money to the untaxed teams
then comes the simulation settings with realistic stats...closest game ive seen to a viable basketball sim is ddspb, but it has a flawed financial model and is quite buggy and is a pain to edit any player ratings
if clay & co were to work on basketball mogul, they would have to in all likelihood can football mogul and take quite a lengthy break from baseball mogul
and college basketball would be an even larger undertaking if you were to try and incorporate even just a decent recruiting system
