Alright check it out . after a few years and lots of sucess with my teams . its getting too easy . ive played on all difficulties but mogul and ive put together dozens of hall of fame careers and championships . i need more of a challenge . ive even tried the tampa bay devil rays :D . . . and took over the AL East for 20 years . so can somebody give me advice or suggestions on tweaking tha options to make this more of a real life challenge . the more responses the better . BLESS ME

Set it on a higher level of difficulty... instead of "FAN", choose "COACH" or "MANAGER", etc. Also, disallow computer trades... not that they are great on harder difficulty levels.

Try to save up cash to build a new stadium. That usually sets you back a while if you are trying to be competitive with the large market teams or even if you are one of those. It might be easy enough to save up 100 MIL, but if you try to double or triple that then you're not going to have the money to spend on talented free agents.

Also, keep your FARM SYSTEM expenses at whatever level to be 2nd or lower. This means your rookies won't develop quite as nicely and forcing you to look at FA players... which usually means spending some dough.

Dont take advantage of the AI. Dont trade for the 1st draft picks every year, sim 1 day of free agency before signing so you cant get all the stars. Dont spend alot of money on scouting,farm system and medical staff.

something i do sometimes is limit the amount i will pay a regular player. Usually i won't pay a starter more than eight million, and i keep my bench players under a million.

this forces you to really watch prospects and stats rather than just signing nameless ratings.
