At what age do players usually retire. I have a relief pitcher who is 42 years old and lost most of his talent. I have moved him to the minors to open up a slot for a better (younger) pitcher. There is a season and a half left on his contract at 12 points per. Should I cut him now and eat the 9 points, or is there a chance he will retire after this season which would basically cost me 6 points?
