Pressing the “Sort Minors” button automatically sorts the defensive positions of players (who are not in their typical fielding position). I tried this before and after installing the newest official patch. I started a “New Game,” pressed “Play” twice, and went to the defensive lineup for Arizona and right away this bug is found every time. I just change one of the starting player’s to a different fielding position, such as an outfielder to third base, and then I press “sort minors” and the starting positions for those two players swap back to their original fielding positions.

This does not seem to ever happen for pitchers. This also does not happen in the lineup screen, but it has in the past before I tried the patch. On my games before the newest official patch, one is never safe to sort the minors unless all batters always play in their original fielding positions.

Game v21 with newest official patch only

I start a new game in 2007 with Arizona, change a player's position in the Scouting Report, then click 'Sort Minors'.

I'm also confused because you say "change one of the starting player's" and then you say "those two players swap back". What exactly is happening? Can you show me a before and after screen shot?

Thanks,

Clay

He means that he's just swapping the players in the ctrl-D screen, not on their individual scouting reports. If you do that and click "sort minors," it flips the switched players back to where the game thinks they should be, even though they're not in the minors.

For instance, I just swapped the starting catcher with the starting first baseman (granted, that switch is unlikely, but it could just as easily be left fielder with right fielder), and clicking the sort minors button flips them back to their original positions.

This is still there in 10.24.
