Overall & Peak vs Scouting

Sorry again guys i have gone crazy trying to find the difference and hate to bother the forum with what has to be another elementary question, but here it is:

I understand Overall vs Peak...but who is setting those , my scout?

if so, then what does the additional Scouting rate mean and which numbers are more reliable?

Well, every player has an overall and peak rating based on their predicted stats which can be editted in Commisioner Mode. The ratings you see are then further editted BY your scouting. The Scouting number (+/-) tells you the range at which the rating you see is compared to the player's actual rating. Thus, if you have Scouting +/- 6 and the player's power rating is actually 80, you can see any number from 74 to 86.

Houston, thanks so much but im afraid i wasnt clear...i do understand about the + - in the scouting but dont understand

1) what the Scouting Rating is i.e. Joe has 73 overall 78 peak and 7.9 scouting...

2) back to your point, do you happen to know why my + - is always 1 even when i pay my scouts zero and im playing mogul difficulty..ive tried experimenting up and down with scout salary and it wont change that +- number

I'm not sure on that one. I don't use the Scouting rating. Ohms could probably help you.

It takes time to change.

The scouting rating is basically an overall scouting opinion of a player. It combines Operall, peak, and age in some manner. I'm fairly certain that it's the primary value that the AI uses when making decisions regarding players.

Note however that all of that is pretty much speculation. I've kind of figured it out through observation, but there's not any official documentation on it that I've ever seen.

Like HGM said, it takes time for the scouting error to change. If you leave your expenses at 0 for long enough, your error rate will increase.
