I've been pretty bored lately while at home, and, even though I am enjoying my Baseball Mogul Online leagues and my Mets game file, I have been really interested in creating a new Baseball league using BM08. I wanted to create like, a league to rival the MLB, but I need some interesting/fresh ideas.
The first idea that came to my mind was bigger stadiums. Hopefully see less home runs. Things like that. My problem is, I'm not too creative, so I came here looking for help.
I'd greatly appreciate any help posted. Thanks in advance! :D

No, no, nothing like that. Like, new ideas. Let's say, hypothetically, I'm trying to change the game of baseball. A league that will rival the MLB. You know how we have the NFL, but then there's other leagues that change the game of football, such as Arena Football, etc.
Yeah... that's a good way to put it.

humm... well, with Mogul there's really only so much you can do. I mean, you can change the number of games played in a season somewhat, create all new ballparks and teams, and completely new players. You can't really change the whole game though.

I figured that. That's where things such as "imagination" and "creativity" come into play. Say for example, The league was to use a smaller ball. This is impossible to configure in BM, but by adjusting numbers such as errors, strikeouts, hits, etc. you can set the output of using a smaller ball.
Things like that.

You might be able to cut down the number of runs by maxing the Outfield Area and raising the height of the fences.
This worked like a charm in Earl Weaver Baseball, which was even more batter-friendly than BM. I built one -stadium -fits- all, with the largest field, and the highest fences that the game's editor permitted, and allocated it to every franchise within the EWB leagues.
It lowered the overall pitching E.R.A. but still the batting stats were respectable (more doubles & triples), yet with fewer ridiculous numbers of homers - everybody, and his grandmother having 50 or more, up to then
Doubt if this would work in BM tho - I don't think that you can't build the fences high enough...might be a nice option for "stadium editor" next season, though.
To radically change your League, why not erase all the present teams in a particular year, and replace them with random "empty" teams (renamed, to your own taste and whimsy, by you, of course, Nym)?
These "empty" teams are, in fact, filled with a full complement of fictional rookies - such teams get eaten alive by teams with normal rosters, but if all were equally green, I think that would make for some interesting play.
I tried this myself, recently, but spoiled things by hiring four decent FA starters - just four so-so pitchers, yet the team cleaned up!
Good luck with your league!
