There are way too many wild pitches during simulation, but I've never seen one in pbp. Not very realistic at all. In my league now in late June, there's a guy with 21 WPs in 74 IP!. Shane Lindsey of Colorado. There are six others with WPs in double digits. The current real life WP leader has 8.
Also pickoffs and balks are absent from pbp games. I know it's a relatively minor thing, but still...

But... how do they function in RL? maybe the game can't handle those two types.

Your correct that they dont' seem to happen in PBP mode, and there is a bug report about that. As for them occurring "way to much" in simulation mode, I completely disagree. Several of us have checked the rate of occurrence, both in Mogul 2007 and Mogul 2008.

Well what is the guys control? If it sucks then that would be the reason. Everyone has wild pitches and I would be willing to say that 99% of pitchers in the league will throw more than one a year, and that would probably be low.

Roger Clemens through 11 in 1986 and he is regarded as having very good control and command of his stuff. He has twice thrown 14 (back to back years) and he already has 1 this year in only 6.0 innings.

There aren't in Manager mode though.

As for Lindsay, he's had horrible control in his minor league career, which is why, in my rosters at least, he's predicted to give up 90 walks, 13 HBP, and 20 WP in 151 innings. From 2004-2006 in the minors, he's thrown 30 wild pitches in 150 innings. One thing that we might want to bring up though is that it doesn't seem as though a player's predicted wild pitches decrease as he nears his peak. I think that, since control does improve over time, he should also become better at avoiding WP's.
