Love 2007, great game but I have (more then one) bug, but I will just talk about one of them here.
First of all, I'm using XP (gak!) and I have the latest patch .43 or what ever its called. (got it off the main site)
My bug is that if you trade players or lose them as free agents, they end up on the AAA or lower team of the team they go to. This is not a case of the player being bad, I had a player (fictional) who was a left fielder, his .331 54hr 141RBI, won the MVP award. I lost him as a free agent, about 31 years old. He signed some HUGE contract with another team. Two seasons later, I went to check him out, he spent the whole time as AAA. The starting outfielders for that team was all journeyman level players.
Puzzled, I checked out other players I traded away or lost, most of them were all at the minors, and a lot of them were pretty good players. Some of them with big free agent contracts.
None of them had any injury problems of note. Most were in their prime.
I think this is a bug, and am reporting it.
I am playing the game at the MANAGER level.
Has anyone else noticed this bug?

The second bug I have noticed. (see previous post about my game/system details.
This is a bug very similar to an unpatched earlier version of Baseball Mogul. The 2003 edition if I recall.
Bad season schedualing by the computer. The game I am running begins in 2006, standard teams in the 3 divisons in AL and NL. My teams schedual (I hope I'm spelling that right) has been silly.
(I should note I disabled Interleague play)
I have seasons where I am on the road for 28 games straight, then at home for a similar amount of time. Or, it comes up that I am playing the same team 8 games in a row in the same stadium (either at home or on road).
As I said, the 2003 version was similar until it was patched.

yes. It's a widely known AI problem.
It's always good to report it again though. Also, thank you for actually taking the time to put together a well-thought out bug report.
One question though - are the player's ratings still good? I know for a fact there is an AI problem with it putting highly rated guys in the minors. However, if the ratings have dropped, that would explain why he's in the minors, because the AI doesn't taje statistics into account (although I've clamored for that quite a lot!).

As for schedules, http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=115642&highlight=schedule
It's interesting that you mention interleague play was turned off. I don't think anybody has mentioned that before, although I could be wrong.

Yes, the one fellow I used as an example
Awesom player named Elijah Dukes peak rating 98 (drafted first overall, helped turn the Devil Rays around)
When he signed as a free agent, he was 31, rating of 98 still.

Yeah, it's sad. I know Gaedel once reported Don Drysdale was signed to a free agent contract, rated 95 or so, and played in AAA except for a few games each year, even though the starting ptichers on the team are all rated in the 70s.
Although, these cases are extreme and rare. However, it is a very common problem that the AI signs players to multimillion dollar deals and places them immediately in AAA. There are a few threads that touch on the issue. Two recent ones you might want to check out are http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=116409 and http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=115882

Everytime I trade 1 of my players to another team they never bring them up to the Minors ... it happened on 2k7 as well. For example I traded Jose Contreras who at the time was 6-0 with a 1.92 ERA and a rating of 83 and they they've never broguth him to the major league roster even though their rotation is awful (2nd yr of existance). Just 1 example.
Is this a bug ?
used to happen on 07 when u did not uncheck the box b4 u traded him.
thanks in advance :)
sorry forgot to add the version : 10.24 :)

Is it the same problem? You have him checked off? I'm fairly certain that the bug that doesn't clear the checkmarks is still there.

Me too. That bug has been around seemingly forever.

I've tried both ways ... check and unchecked and same seems to be happening on most trades. They only bring them up for sept call ups. So they just pinch hit and things liek that.
thanks :)
