Anyone got preferences? Is the 60gb drive for play3 necessary? Can Play3 blu-ray play regular DVD's? Is Play3's online gaming improved and near the quality of xbox?

Nintendo Wii. A heck of alot cheaper, and the most fun i've had playing a Video Game and a great workout as well. The sports package game that comes with it is great. The tennis is the best in my opinion and the Tiger Woods golf is very addicting. Nintendo has defenitly stole the show with their low price and interactive controller.

Yep Wii is great & the "new games" planned like RPG version of World of Warcraft is excellent - yes it doesnt have PS3 or XBox technology but as Taco points out it is way more FUN !! 1 the offer of "Wii Play" for free when you buy the 2nd Wiimote is great (really good for the younger kids ~7 to 100yrs old!)

I want one. Actually, the stores should have them widely available by now, I think that I'll grab one here within the week or so.
It's been... forever since I've actually owned a console.

I want a Wii, but since I would be the only one playing it 90 percent of the time, it doesnt seem worth it. Wii is a party machine, where the 360 is something you can enjoy by yourself.

Ive broken 2 Wii pads already and they are not cheap to buy (£35), it initialy seems cheap but it aint if I break anymore pads.
Its good for party gaming, but rubbish compared to the 360 when it comes to proper 1 player gaming.

The playstation 3 20GB model got discontinued and the 60Gb model also got discontinued. There is a new 80Gb model for 600$. I would go after the 60Gb model as it is 100$ cheaper and there really isnt a point in the extra 20GBs for 100$. The ps3 can play DVDs. I have never played online on a playstation3.

Good point plus I seen an easy upgrade that sony has outlined in the manual where you can put in your own hard drive, so I would buy the cheapest and stick a 250 gig hd in their, only catch is the hard drive is a laptop hard drive and costs a little more. you don't even have to open the entire thing up to replace the hard drive, its similar to a lapop where you just open up a compartment and pull the old hard drive out and put the new one in...

Had a 360, have a 3. Online play for CoD 3 (the game that took a year of my life away) is great. There was more detail than the 360 version. It was just stunning. I wish I still had a 360 since CoD 4 beta is coming Tuesday I think. Also like the idea of a free network, but the 360's pay version has more stuff. We'll see how that pans out for the 3 in time.
