I started a dynasty as the Red Sox in 1919 and was pleased to see that BM2008 was set, by default, to simulate deadball-era home run totals. I simulated 1920 and 1921, expecting to see home run totals increase as they did in real life (at least for the Babe, anyway). However power settings do not seem to have changed.

Will BM2008 simulate increased power over time? Or do I need to manually change something in commissioner mode?

Thanks,
Pirx

Yes. It's supposed to anyway. There are no guarantees that specific players will have higher power numbers though... how many home runs have been hit through both leagues in your latest game? Easiest way to check would be to open sortable stats, ensure that Home Runs is a field that is visible, copy and paste that info into a spreadsheet, and total them up.

Unfortunately I did the 1921 season as a test run and didnt save it. For the 1920 season, there was one HR per 143 bats among all active players. Babe Ruth led the league in 1920 and 1921 with 26 and 28 HR. No other player on the leaderboards had more than 15 HR.

Actually, that sounds about correct. It's starts picking up league wide pretty quickly from there but the change isn't instantaneous.

And if it doesn't, you can edit the simulation settings to produce more homers.
