Take a look at League Expert Mogul and view the Los Angeles team from the past year. I lost in game seven of the World Series, but how do I lose when I have 5 19 game winners with best pitching and hitting in the league, not to mention 127 wins.

This is a copy of a post I made sometime ago...
To be very blunt... historically in MLB, the team with the BEST seasonal record in the playoff only goes on to win the World Series 25% of the time.
Since the start of the Divisional Playoff Format (including the oddity of 1981) the team with the best record has only won 1 out of 8 tries. The stats are as follows:
Best Record = 1 Win (Yankees)
2nd Best = 2 Wins
3rd Best = 2 Win
4th Best = 1 Win
5th Best = 0 Win
6th Best = 1 Win
7th Best = 0 Win
8th Best = 1 Win (Yankees again!)
In the previous format for the League Championship Series, 1969 to 1993 (excluding 1981,) the respective stats are as follows:
Best Record = 7 wins
2nd Best = 5 wins
3rd Best = 8 wins
4th Best = 4 wins
As such, I don't think the issue is how your team is being managed during the playoff, but rather that it is very tough for a team to win a short series, let alone three series in a row! This is especially evident as the best record in baseball has only won 1 of the last 7 tries. Surprisingly, the team with the third best record in baseball has won 10 out of 32 tries (SABR anyone?)
In summary... I don't really think you can blame the game... the concerns seem to be more a result of the MLB playoff format then with Clay and Co. Anyone else in favor of 154 game seasons!

I understand your point, but when a team is that dominant, it is hard to believe realistically that they would be beaten. Also, my team had advantages in every aspect of the game over the team I faced in the World Series. My number 5 starter would be their number one starter. All I am saying is that this has been a reoccuring theme in baseball mogul. I once had a team win 135 games and get swept in the first round by a team that only one 88 games. However, I do appreciate your feedback.

Remember the monster Yankees of the 60's?
I seem to remember they were a dominating force as well, but ran into the Pirates.. When the Yankees won their three games..they HAMMERED the Pirates, but the Pirates won four of theirs by i think..almost one run games..all of them. almost pitchers duels..if i remember right.
Sometimes..the best team doesn't win the series.. sometimes the pitching doesn't hold at the "relief corps" . How did they do? What was their stats?
I bemoan with you about that. Happens all the dern time :)

What did your bullpen do? How many games did they lose...or how many blown saves did you get out of your closer and setup man?
I know that I had a horrendous duo and the others in my bullpen were good, and I couldnt win as well...it turned out that the problem was that I needed to cut bait and try the others in the position, and things turned around in the next couple of seasons..
Good Luck!:)
