This is an idea I would like to see on Mogul Online.

Right now if you are trading, you can't send messages back and forth unless you make an offer. Either you have to make a trade offer with your comment, or you have to use "private message" in the message boards which not that many people check.

BBMO could create a option to send messages in the trading area without attaching them to trade offers. Another good use for this is that if someone sends you an offer that you like, but you are just thinking about, you can send an "I'm considering this for another couple hours" message instead of having to send a counter offer.

This should help solve the problem of people "ignoring" offers, when really they are just thinking about them. With messaging, the owners involved can send back a message "hey, I've got a couple other offers, I'll decide by March" or something to that effect.

I 100% agree. I would love a way to message, plus more integration with the message boards.

I'll send this thread to James...

I have thought this for a long time, just never voiced it. Any messages waiting should have some sort of notice on the team summary page, like the pending trade offers.

The private messages through the message board are not used/unknown by most users, thus not a practical solution.

Why not use MSN Messenger or AIM for now?? (I personally prefer messenger) You can go out dl & set it up in less than 10 minutes... You can put all the appropriate players in thier own group even. (contact group) Very easy to set up & use.

These messenger systems (MS Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL etc) are all good.

The problem is that not all players give their IDs... Or even want to use it.

A simple messenging system would help facilitate trading.

The ability to send messages back and forth on the trade screens would be much easier than using AIM or ICQ. No matter from what computer you logged in, even a friend's or an Internet cafe's, you would be able to see what other teams had told you about trading. The goal here is to facilitate trading when most people do not check their teams or computers every 3 minutes.

Well... if you want to use it from anywhere (internet cafe,, friends place).. MSN Messenger, ICQ & AIM are right for it. As far as some people who dont give thier ids.. that is a pain. (I have had to deal with that with other games clubs Im involved in as well) But hey... if a guy wants to be involved in something like 'real time' baseball mogul chat & trading.. they HAVE to sign up. Thioe who are keen to it will use it & have fun doing so. You will always have wishy washy players who only go half way! If a guy involved in a league doesnt use it,, thats his choice.. but it would be a fun aspect they would miss out on.

These online services are fun, easy, & extremely flexible.

I also think there should be better messaging built into BMO. I use AIM, but a lot of people don't for one reason or another (they're at work, it crashes their computer, they don't know how to install it, etc.)
