Ah, good 'ol Chuck. One of my all time favorite players. I still fondly remember watching him pitch at the Big A as a kid.
:D

Despite him being one of my all time favorites, he's not on par to be a HOF'er. If Mark Langston and Vida Blue aren't in, then Chuck shouldn't be in either.

Or Ron Guidry!!!!! Or Sparky Lyle.....ah the injustice!

Chuck has a place in my heart and I think he should get in. In my first baseball video game, Triple Play 97, his sinker was unstoppable and won many games for me.

Go Chuck!

He's not quite Hall material in my opinion.

It never even crossed my mind that Chuck Finley would be concidered into the HOF. I never even thought of greatness from him.

When I did think of him, I think of just the Angels. He was the face of the franchise for a few years. Having only a few great seasons, doesn't make you one of the best all-time. Good pitcher of his generations, verses all time. He doesn't come close.

I think of him as an Indian. The picture that comes to mind is from a baseball card, I think he was in his follow through, but he looked bizarre, like he'd shaved off his eyebrows kinda. I think it was an Upper Deck card, or maybe a Donruss spinoff.

He's not a Hall of Famer; he' not even one of the guys who's really close that always get brought up when people talk about who should be in but isn't. He's in the next group, who were very good, but clearly not quite up to HoF standards.

He was a consistent ballplayer... the coach knew he would get a good if not great game out of him, but he was far from a HOFer. A good player, but not a great player.

Yes, he's a player that belongs in that elusive "Hall of Very Good" that so many writers talk about.

You guys obviously missed post #4.

He was unstoppable in '97. The sinker was untouchable! He is a shoe in!
