Arbitration/Free Agency

I just went into my 2nd off-season and lost 3 players to free agency who only should've been arbitration eligible because they just finished their third major league season. Is this going to continue to happen each season or is this just because these guys were already in the majors when I started playing and the game wasn't set with the arbitration clause? Either way I think it's a bug.

It's the latter. I'm assuming your using the default rosters, in which, for whatever reason, contract types and what not aren't set right at the start
